The mission of the Academic Success Center is to facilitate students’ successful transition through Samford University by identifying and providing academic resources in a highly collaborative and student-centered manner.The director works closely with faculty, the admissions office, Career Development, and the counseling offices to provide academic assistance as needed. First-year, First-Gen, international, and transfer students are particularly encouraged to take advantage of the center’s services to facilitate their transition to Samford University. The center is located in Dwight Beeson Hall Suite 203.The center hosts study hall each afternoon during the semester in Dwight Beeson Hall room 204 and provides workshops and tabling events to students. We are here to help students achieve academic success by building their skills in time management, study skills, note-taking skills, test-taking skills, and organization. The center also connects students to general and course-based tutoring opportunities.The center also has a full-time pre-health advisor, and special support for students for whom English is not their first language.This organization is open to all students irrespective of race, ethnicity, or other legally protected characteristics.

We are a multi-cultural group seeking to promote African cultures and education and cultural exchange at Samford; this, through meetings, outings, activities and events. We also seek to support students throughout their academic paths and integration into the Samford's community. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) is an educational program designed to allow young men and women to pursue a commission in the United States Air Force or Space Force while pursuing a college degree. The purpose of the AFROTC program is to provide quality development of the individual so that they may serve as effective leaders and officers upon entering the Air Force Space Force. Samford AFROTC is dedicated to train, educate, and develop college students at Samford University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jefferson State Community College, Birmingham Southern College, Miles College, and the University of Montevallo to become future officers.AFROTC Mission: To develop leaders of character for tomorrow’s Air Force.Detachment 012 Mission: Recruit, mentor, and develop high quality leaders for the world's most powerful Air Force.

The purpose of the Cumberland School of Law ADLA is to bring together lawyers of Alabama who devote a substantial amount of their professional time to the handling of civil defense cases.

The purpose of this organization shall be to foster interest in the legal community and to otherwise further the aims mentioned in the preamble. Alpha Epsilon Delta is vital to the success of pre-health students at Samford University. The goal of this organization is to help prepare undergraduate students for a career in medicine (allopathic, osteopathic, dental, optometric, etc.). We accomplish this goal by hosting guest speakers and information sessions with relevant content for student members. This would include guidance from faculty advisors regarding the admissions requirements and allowing members to connect with other students pursuing similar career paths. Every year, AED holds an initiation ceremony and an officer election. Throughout the year, we host a variety of lectures and workshops that will help students prepare for the admissions cycle. Examples of these events include: Q&A sessions for applications and entry exams, guest speakers from admissions committees, and personal statement workshops. Induction into AED is contingent on academic requirements. Applications and induction happen every Spring semester. Students should join the Pre-Health Student Society to participate in our events even if they are not apart of AED.

Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 1924 at the University of Illinois. It is a national honor society that recognizes first-year students who are in the top 20% of their class during their first semester. The Samford University Chapter is committed to excellence in academics and service. The National Council which governs the organization has prudently invested the resources and gifts from local chapters, National Council members, former fellowship recipients, and friends of the Society over the years so that the Perpetual Fellowship Fund now exceeds $4 million and can provide support for 50 undergraduate scholarships of $1,000-$6,000 each, 20 study-abroad scholarships of $1,000-$2,000, and 26 graduate fellowships from $2,000 to $7,000. Alpha Lambda Delta is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, which demonstrates our commitment to excellence and our value as a credible honor society. Alpha Omicron Pi Rho Delta is an international women's fraternity founded on the ideals of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty.

Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity Incorporated is the first and one of the oldest intercollegiate African American fraternities in America. It was founded on the campus of Cornell University on December 4th, 1906. The mission of our fraternity is to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. In addition, we pride ourselves on our aims of manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. This is seen through our work of our four national programs that work closely within the community. Lastly, our objective of the fraternity is to stimulate the ambition of our members, prepare them for the great usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom and dignity of the individual, to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood, and to aid down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status.

ALPHA PSI OMEGA was organized as a theatre honor society for the purpose of providing acknowledgement to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in theatre and, through the expansion of ALPHA PSI OMEGA among colleges and universities, providing a wider fellowship for those interested in theatre. Greek Fraternity

The ADR Board encompasses the negotiation, arbitration, and mediation teams. The goal of the organization is to further the knowledge and skills of Cumberland students in alternative dispute resolution, administer interschool competitions, and provide support to teams competing in interscholastic competitions.

"AIGA brings design to the world, and the world to designers. As the nation's largest professional membership organization for design—with more than 70 chapters and more than 15,000 members—AIGA advances design as a professional craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force." A select group of graphic design students here at Samford have been building a new campus chapter from the ground up since spring semester. We aim first and foremost to gather students in the Samford graphic design program across all cohorts and technical backgrounds. We will provide events on and off campus to foster design skills and build a stronger sense of community. We also aim to integrate students into the local professional design community, providing opportunities to network and build connections with designers in the city of Birmingham.

The American Journal of Trial Advocacy is the nation’s oldest law review dedicated to the art of trial advocacy. The American Journal of Trial Advocacy publishes articles authored by prominent attorneys, judges and clinical professors throughout the country. These articles address proven tactics and techniques at the pre-trial, trial and appellate level. Student-written notes, comments and recent developments focus on new developments in the law that most directly affect trial practice and procedure. In its fourth decade of publication, the Journal has tremendous potential for breaking new legal ground and supplying the largest section of the national Bench and Bar with unique, practical scholarship.

Open to all Samford students, the AMA - Samford chapter provides unparalleled opportunities to learn from and network with marketing professionals. AMA is the definitive professional association for marketers, and our campus chapter collaborates with AMA Birmingham as well as the global AMA organization to provide education, events, and other programming. Additionally, members may choose to compete in individual and/or chapter-level competitions, including website design, marketing plan development, t-shirt design, and sales.

The mission of the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.

The American Sign Language Club (ASLC) will offer on-campus events/meetings to spread awareness of Deaf culture and practice sign language skills, as well as attend off-campus events hosted by the Alabama Institute of the Deaf and Blind (AIDB) to connect with the Deaf community in Birmingham. Examples of on-campus events include practicing fingerspelling in ASL by baking ASL hand-shape cookies, meeting on Ben Brown to practice signing, and contributing to Christmas Around the World by signing Silent Night with the ASL class. Examples of off-campus events include participating in silent dinners, Deaf coffee chats, Deaf bowling leagues, and Deaf church services. Our purpose is to provide cultural enhancement to academic studies with fun activities outside of the classroominform students of language opportunities on campus, in the Birmingham community, and throughout the United Statesallow students to benefit from the American Sign Language experiences of members of the Samford communityfulfill the Samford motto, "For God, for learning, forever," by encouraging students to explore the ways in which their knowledge of a foreign language can be used to bring glory to God, and to practice the language in order to be life-long learners and to maintain their knowledge and skills.

Amnesty International forms a global community of human rights defenders based on the principles of international solidarity, effective action for the individual victim, global coverage, the universality and indivisibility of human rights, impartiality and independence, and democracy and mutual respect.

The Architecture and Interior Design Collective was created to give students a connection to the professional community through events, guest speakers, networking opportunities, and connections with alumni. AIC will equip students for individual success through a mentoring program, NCIDQ and NCARB licensing advising, leadership opportunities, and required involvement in professional organizations.

The ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society which aims to advance computing as a science and a profession. As a student chapter of the ACM, this organization provides students interested in computer science the opportunity for networking, learning more about the science, and fellowship. Our mission is to help increase knowledge of and interest in the computer sciences as well as increase fellowship and career preparedness through our various events and meetings.

The mission of Samford University's Department of Athletics is to equip student-athletes to earn a degree, pursue championships and grow in a Christ-centered environment. The Bulldogs currently offer the following men's sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, Indoor/Outdoor track and field while competing in the following women's sports: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, Indoor/Outdoor track and field, and volleyball.Since joining the Southern Conference in 2008, the Bulldogs have captured 74 conference championships, including a school-record eleven titles in 2022-2023.

Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society is a society for students, particularly for undergraduates. It seeks to encourage scholarly attainment in this field of learning by reserving its regular membership for those who achieve superior academic records and who indicate special aptitude for and major interest in the life sciences. It desires to cultivate intellectual interest in the natural sciences and to promote a better appreciation of the value of biological study and thus welcomes into associate membership all those students who are interested in biology. Beta Beta Beta also endeavors to extend the boundaries of man's knowledge of nature by encouraging new discoveries through scientific investigation and, to this end, encourages under-graduate students to begin research work and report their findings in the journal of the society, BIOS.It emphasizes, therefore, a three-fold program: stimulation of scholarship, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and promotion of biological research.

The Brock School of Business Professional Development program provides Brock School of Business undergraduate students the opportunity to:Participate in a variety of co-curricular events that will enhance professional development.Develop critical professional skills related to interviewing, networking and communication.Interact with industry professionals to gain important industry knowledge and career skills.The Brock School of Business Professional Development program is a series of activities and events scheduled throughout the academic year that focuses on building career skills. After gaining admission to Brock School of Business, students must attend a total of 10 events approved by the dean’s office. All Brock School of Business students are invited to attend Professional Development events, however, only those students sophomore year and above will accumulate credits toward the required 10 credits to graduate.

The Christenberry Planetarium is Samford University’s on-campus planetarium, dedicated to making astronomy and space science accessible, engaging, and inspiring for the Samford community. Largely operated by Samford students, we provide weekly public programs, guided star shows, and special events that encourage curiosity, discovery, and a shared sense of wonder about the universe.Our mission is to connect students, faculty, staff, and guests with the night sky through educational and welcoming experiences. Whether exploring constellations, learning about current discoveries in space, or simply looking up together, Christenberry Planetarium creates opportunities to learn, imagine, and be inspired.

The Christian Legal Society provide opportunities for discussion about the law and Christianity. It also provides a vibrant Christian community for law students on campus which enables its members, individually and as a group, to love the Lord with their whole beings -- hearts, souls, and minds -- and to love their neighbor as themselves. (Matthew 22:37-40).

The purpose of a Christian Pharmacists Fellowship student organization chapter is to motivate and equip pharmacy students to practice faith in Jesus Christ in their personal and professional lives. The purpose is also to encourage and develop an active Christian witness and evangelism through prayer, Bible study, outreach, and fellowship (per Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International).We offer 3-4 chapter meetings per semester in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) as a time to gather and worship Christ. Our meetings involve music, message, food, and fellowship. We also participate in mission opportunities such as Operation Christmas Child, SNPhA's Perry County Fair, collecting donations for the Birmingham warming station during the winter, letters to veterans, Samford gives back, and free breakfast in the CHS lobby once a year. Circle K International (CKI) is the world's largest collegiate service organization. Our motto is "Live to Serve, Love to Serve". This truly embodies what the club is about, service. The mission of the organization is "CKI develops college and university students into a global network of responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to service". We live by three main tenants, Leadership, Fellowship, and Service. Being that CKI is an international organization, there are many leadership opportunities ranging from the club level all the way to the international level. In addition, there are many service opportunities within this organization. CKI has many service initiatives including hygiene and sanitation, childhood development, environmental justice, food insecurity and homelessness, and mental health. We aim to work on projects that focus on these initiatives in the Homewood and Mountain Brook communities along with in the state of Alabama. Most importantly, we aim to have this club be a place of inclusivity and a welcoming environment. We want to allow Samford students to meet new friends and connect with people they have never spoken to before. We will be able to accomplish this through club meetings, service projects, and fellowship events outside of club meetings.

The purpose of the Classic Flicks at Samford University organization shall be to provide the students of Samford University with an opportunity to view old classic movies in high quality, experiencing them the way they were meant to be experienced. The mission statement of Classic Flicks at Samford University is to provide entertainment, artistry, and commentary of the human condition, and for promoting the higher aspects of human potential.

CSG is an organization that aims to bring students together through gaming. We offer weekly Game Nights as well as several events throughout each semester, and these are centered around video games and board games. The Cordell Hull Speakers Forum is a student-governed organization that provides Cumberland Law School and the Birmingham, Alabama community with the opportunity to hear presentations by policy makers, national leaders, renowned legal scholars, and distinguished members of the legal profession.

The Cumberland Chess Club is a social organization aimed at promoting camaraderie with students by playing and learning the game of chess. This club will be used for social purposes only, with once a month meetings to either (1) learn new strategies or basics of chess; (2) "over-the-board" tournaments; and (3) to promote goodwill with members of the club.The main reason this Club will be formed is to bring together students who play chess. There are no expectations placed on members except to remain in good standing. There are no other requirements - a further indication of the Club's purpose to promote goodwill regardless of skill level. Chess is a game that spans generations of people from all backgrounds - this Club aims to promote this value by its formation.

The Cumberland Democrats pledges itself to support the philosophy and candidates of the Democratic Party.

The Cumberland Environmental Law Society seeks to better understand issues pertaining to both the environment and Environmental Law.

The purpose of the Cumberland Health and Wellness Society is to give law students a healthy outlet to discuss and learn about ways to balance their professional and personal lives.

The purpose of the organization shall be to promote discussions and examinations of the issues occurring on the national and subnational level. The organization seeks to foster genuine understanding and respect amongst people of differing political dispositions. In essence, we are a debating club.

The continuing objective of the Cumberland Law Review’s membership is to publish a professional periodical devoted to legal issues that can be of use to judges, practitioners, teachers, legislators, students and others interested in the law. Only in the legal profession do students have the responsibility for publishing a majority of the contributions to the professional literature.

The Cumberland Legal Technology Society educates other about new and innovative technology that can enhance and potentially transform the practice of law.

The Cumberland Public Interest and Community Service Organization's purpose is to promote, encourage, and complete community service and public interest projects by providing students opportunities to serve their campus and community as future legal professionals.

Cumberland Republicans promote the principles of the Republican Party among the students of Samford University and the residents of Alabama.

This ministry is to encourage young women into a Christ centered community that fosters vulnerability and transforms stories. It is composed of weekly gatherings, worship nights, service opportunities outside of campus, and mentorship one-on-ones that are built in through the organization. This ministry is created to guide others in discipleship and overall expand His Kingdom and give Him the glory.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Founded on January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose main goal is to serve communities around the world through the development of programs. The organization is able to provide an array of public service initiatives through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrusts, which include Educational Awareness, Economic Awareness, Political Awareness and Involvement, International Awareness and Involvement, and Physical and Mental Health. The members of the Sigma Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated are honored to be a part of such a dynamic sisterhood!On March 18, 1995, the Sigma Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered. Under the permission and guidance of Regional Director Lois Gilder and the Jefferson County Alumnae Chapter, eleven Samford women were initiated on the campus of Samford University. As of fall 2019, The Sigma Eta chapter has initiated sixty-six women through thirteen membership intake processes. The chapter works hard to promote change using each of the Five Point Programmatic Thrusts while providing public service to the community. Sigma Eta’s longest lasting and most impactful project has been the Tiffany Nicole Conoway Minority Scholarship. The scholarship was created in memory of charter member Tiffany Nicole Conaway who passed away before the initiation but was initiated posthumously. In her honor, the Tiffany Nicole Conaway Minority Scholarship was established. Currently, the Sigma Eta Chapter hosts events such as Go Red for Women (National Wear Red Day and Pie for Hearts), Support Our Troops, Career Development Workshop, and Dance Away Diabetes.

Dobro Slovo recognizes academic excellence in the study of Slavic languages, cultures, and literatures. Samford's chapter was chartered March 24, 2005. The Samford University Faculty Committee on Student Affairs, Religious Life, and University Relations, along with the Board of Trustees, approved the recognition of the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Dobro Slovo October 23, 2007. Our chapter holds initiations in the spring. There are 3 classes of membership: student, faculty and honorary. Members may be chosen from both undergraduate and graduate students and from the faculty of the local institution.Qualifications for student membership are:1. The student must have completed two years (or equivalent) of study of Slavic languages, literature, culture, or related subjects with a minimum average grade of 85% (B) or its letter or point equivalent.2. The minimum overall academic average should be 80% (B) or its letter or point equivalent3. The student must indicate an active and continuing interest in Slavic languages, literature, culture or related fields of Slavic studies.

DREAM is Samford's only disability advocacy organization. Our mission is twofold. Entre Nous is an annual yearbook that captures all of the events, students, and popular places on campus over the course of the year. It takes multiple people to put the yearbook together, including: Editor-in-Chief, section editors, art director, photo editor, and all of the writers and photographers who contributed their stories. These paid positions are available for anyone who wants to participate, you do not have to be majoring in anything related to writing or art.

The Federalist Society fosters critical thought and debate about the application of small-government, decentralizing principles to the law. The Federalist Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities.

Finance and Economic Women aims to show undergraduate women and men that a career in finance and economics is a fantastic choice and support those who have already declared either one as their major. F.E.W. seeks to create a network of professional women who are committed to helping younger women find career opportunities, encourage them in their choices and provide a trusting community. F.E.W. hosts in person and virtual events which connect students with recent and established graduates in their fields. The events are usually held during Convocation hour, and in person events are often held during a catered lunch.

Financial Management Association is an international organization that aims to broaden and deepen knowledge of financial decision making. At the chapter level here at Samford, we aim to educate undergraduate students of the career paths available in finance. We do this by hosting events in which our members can gain valuable networking experience with local business leaders.

The First-Generation Law Student org. (FLGS) is an organization led by students who are the first in their families to go to law school. The legal field tends to be generational in nature, and we are devoted to ensuring students without those external built-in resources have the best tools to survive and thrive in law school and the legal field.

Fishing is a stress reliver and fun. It can be competitive and lots of fun being able to compete against fellow schools at a collegiate level. Fishing is what you want it to be. The Samford Fishing Club strives to be a winning club that helps Samford students foster meaningful and lifelong relationships. We also strive to teach Samford students the values of fishing such as respect, discipline, integrity, patience, and hard work. The main goal of The Samford Fishing Club is to share the love of fishing, and the outdoors God has created for us with other students. Samford Grace Dance Ministry is a group of women seeking to learn more about God, dance, and each other.Grace Dance allows Samford students to continue to dance or learn to dance in a positive and stress-free environment. In the fall, we hold weekly classes on Monday nights from 7–8:30pm in different styles, taught by one of our members. If you come to three classes, you are officially a “member” of the company. These classes are open to any and all females on campus.At the end of the fall, we hold auditions for our spring show. The auditions are to gauge availability and interest and see everyone in-person dancing before we make the show list---there are no cuts. Our spring show has a Biblical theme and each dance corresponds to it. We offer dances in contemporary, modern, tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and more. The groups meet once a week to practice and the performance takes place in the Wright Center in April.

The Henry Upson Sims Moot Court offers students the opportunity to learn appellate advocacy through intraschool competitions. Appellate advocacy is the technique used when arguing a case on appeal before the U.S. Supreme Court or lower level appellate courts.

The Honor Council is the body responsible for adjudicating alleged infractions of the Samford University Honor Code. The Honor Council is comprised of members of the Student Judiciary Council and volunteer staff and faculty members. The purpose of this Bulldog Central group is to streamline access to confidential information and scheduling of Honor Council hearings.

The honor court is the organization tasked with enforcing Cumberland School of Law’s honor code. The honor court is made up of 16 elected justices: a chief justice (third-year student), a deputy chief justice (third-year student), four other third-year student justices, six second-year justices, and four first-year justices. The honor court meets on an as-needed basis when it receives reports of alleged violations of the honor code. In that same vein, the honor court is available to answer any questions students may have concerning the honor code or honor court procedure.

“Caring Beyond Drugs”IPhO helps pharmacist focused on industry to fully leverage the value of their academic and experiential training to advance their professional careers. Student members are recognized as the best prepared among all student pharmacists to pursue pharmaceutical industry career opportunities. Members have an excellent working knowledge of common industry pharmacist roles and key pharmaceutical industry driving forces, as well as an understanding of the skills and experiences necessary to become a successful industry pharmacist. Pharmacist play a key role in development, medical, and commercial organizations and are making valuable contributions to drug development and optimal medication utilization each and every day. IPhO works with its members to advocate for advancing industry based pharmacists to leadership positions by increasing awareness and recognition among employers, senior management, colleagues, thought leaders, educators, and students of what pharmacists have to offer. Welcome! Samford IJM is a chapter of justice seekers that supports the largest anti-human trafficking organization, International Justice Mission. Together, we strive to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice unstoppable. Our events are centered around lifting up the issue of human trafficking to God, fundraising to support the mission of IJM, and spreading awareness about human trafficking on Samford's campus. ISPOR is the professional society for pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research and is the leading source for scientific conferences, peer-reviewed and MEDLINE®-indexed publications, good practices guidance, education, collaboration, and tools/resources in the HEOR (health economics and outcomes research) field. ISPOR believes that every healthcare decision should be informed by the best scientific research derived from rigorous, proven methodologies. The mission of ISPOR is "to promote health economics and outcomes research excellence to improve decision making for health globally."ISPOR is a nonprofit organization that welcomes all healthcare stakeholders as members, including researchers, academicians, regulators and assessors, public and private payers, healthcare providers, industry, and patient representatives. The student chapter of ISPOR at Samford University is a graduate student organization of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy. Membership in the student chapter is open to all pharmacy students. ISPOR student chapter meetings usually feature a guest speaker or webinar that highlights the intersection of pharmacists with health outcomes research, health care policy, and decision making. One of the main goals of the chapter is to inform pharmacy students of the myriad of opportunities for pharmacists beyond traditional clinical and community roles. In addition to chapter meetings, the chapter raises funds for philanthropic organizations such as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent and works to support student research. The chapter also sponsors a journal club competition to promote student awareness of research and give the opportunity to practice evaluating primary literature.

Kappa Delta Sorority provides experiences that build confidence in women and inspire them to action through the power of lifelong friendship. With more than 300,000 members, Kappa Delta offers support for leadership development, personal growth, academic success and community service, all in the context of true friendship. Kappa Delta hosts a shamrock philanthropy event each year to bring awareness to prevention efforts of child abuse through national and local beneficiaries.

KON is a nutrition honor society in the school of Public Health that promotes leadership and scholarship. There are typically a few meetings per semester where the members plan nutrition education events, plan fundraisers, and plan to host cooking classes. There are usually one to two events per semester. Due to COVID, this semester will look a little different as we implement more online education materials and seek out safe ways to engage the community. As a member of KON, students will establish relationships and connections both within the nutrition department and in the community as well.

Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc is the oldest and largest professional pharmaceutical fraternity. The Gamma Zeta chapter of Kappa Psi at McWhorter School of Pharmacy was founded in 1935. Kappa Psi accepts both male and female pledges. Pledging for new members is held in the fall through the spring of each school year. Kappa Psi members strive for "leadership in pharmacy, excellence in life". The fraternity is involved in many professional, philanthropic, and social activities throughout the year.

Kappa Tau Alpha is a college honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication.Membership must be earned by excellence in academic work at one of the colleges and universities that have chapters. Selection for membership is a mark of highest distinction and honor.

The Samford University League of Women Voters is a voting rights and education organization. We are dedicated to serving the Samford community and helping members of the community broaden their political responsibility by encouraging participation in all aspects of the voting process. We exist to help anyone at Samford involve themselves and become educated on political issues from a nonpartisan viewpoint; this means hosting voting drives and assisting in voter registration, providing resources on accessing ballots and information about content on ballots, and ensuring that anyone who wants to become an informed voter can do so without confusion or frustration. Phi Alpha Theta is the largest organization in the country for history majors, minors, and students, connecting thousands of students across hundreds of chapters. Samford’s chapter is one of the oldest in the state and regularly sponsors students to present their research at conferences in Alabama and other regional conferences. We also sponsor several events throughout the year for majors and non-majors. Members need to complete 12 credits in history courses and will receive honors cords upon graduation. The Pre-Health Student Society is an organization for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing healthcare careers to connect with one another, as well as professionals in their field(s) of interest, and to have opportunities to develop into well-rounded professionals in their future profession. Examples of events hosted by the Pre-Health Student Society include Q&A sessions with both students and professionals, graduate program guest speakers, and service-based events.Annual dues of $10 are required as a part of this organization and collected at the beginning of membership, and following at the beginning of every fall semester.

Pre-Pharmacy Club is for any undergraduate student who is interested in learning about the profession of pharmacy. In it, students are able to connect with other pre-pharmacy students, gain insight about pharmacy school, and learn about experiences from local pharmacists. The club allows undergraduate students to interact not only with current graduate students at the McWhorter School of Pharmacy but also with pharmacists from the Birmingham community. The Men’s Lacrosse Club is providing an excellent atmosphere for comradery, entertainment, exercise, and competing against other universities around the southeast. The club would like to welcome you to participate in one of the fastest growing sports in America. With continued growth, we plan to work with experienced players as well as encourage new students to try our club. We will be practicing on the intramural fields 1 or 2 times a week.

We are the Samford Men's Club Soccer Team. We compete against other Club teams from schools in our area, such as UAB, University of Alabama, Mississippi State, Auburn, and more. We exist to provide Samford students an opportunity to play soccer in a competitive environment. We look for players who are competitive, talented, and committed to training and playing with the team over the course of the fall and spring semesters.

The Samford Mock Trial team embodies the spirit of advocacy. Students take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses and bring the story from our assigned case packet to life in a simulated courtroom. This organization is open to students from all majors and is applicable to all walks of life -- even if you are not interested in law school. This club will be a fun and casual pickleball experience where you can grow your pickleball game and relationships with others. The Samford Run club will be a sports club that brings students together that share a passion for running. We all share the common love for the sport of running and strengthen that by working hard and loving one another. As a run club we will hold group practices a few times a week which will vary in distance and run type depending on personal race goals. In addition, we will have cross trainings, socials and Bible studies.Although, we share a love for running we will also strengthen our relationship with Christ and be servant minded. Through the reading of scripture and God- centered conversation. The goal of the Samford run club is to create a community of students with a combined passion for running and provide a forum for accountability and encouragement. Club members will race different distances from one mile up to a full marathon. The races will be destined at the beginning of the season and club members will know what races and distances they will participate in. This will allow for intentional training in group runs and individual runs though the week. As we sweat, travel and train together we will remain focused on the idea that working hard is a privilege. We will not feel as though hard work is a burden. Rather, we will continuously remind ourselves that we do not have too, but we get too. As we continue to train hard we will proudly represent Samford University. All in all, we all share the common bond for hard work and passion on the run and beyond.

The purpose of the Samford Shooting Sports organization is to provide the students of Samford University a safe medium to promote education, responsibility, leadership, sportsmanship and a means to improve shooting skills. Our Ultimate Frisbee team gets the opportunity to play and practice throughout the year. Our Spring semester is our sanctioned season where our records count while competing for a spot at sectionals, regions, and nationals. We play against college teams all over the U.S. during 2-day tournaments four to five times a semester. Our dues are low and only required for the spring sanctioned semester. Anyone is welcome to come and practice with us Monday and Wednesdays, but Fridays are especially welcome to first time Ultimate players. We play pick-up causal Ultimate Frisbee every Friday called 'Frisbee Fridays' from 4pm-6pm. We are welcome to all. Samford University Association of Nursing Students (SUANS) is a student-led organization that seeks to enhance the personal and professional development of student nurses. The purpose of the organization shall be to provide a forum for family-related professional development issues. It shall be an organization in which students may participate and exchange ideas and experiences intended to nurture their personal and professional development. We compete with IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association), which strives to provide leadership for the development, supervision, and promotion of good sportsmanship in interscholastic competition and other activities in which its member schools choose to engage.

The Samford University Gospel Choir (SGC) is a ministry devoted to spreading the Gospel through music and worshipping God with our lives. While bringing a different worship experience to Samford University, SGC also develops and executes faith-based activities both independently and in conjunction with other organizations on campus. One of the projects for our chapter is to continue with an annual state-wide Symposium for young collegiate professionals. Alongside the local, state, and national chapters of the Red Cross, the Samford University Red Cross Club is an organization that is not fundamentally religious or partisan, but prides ourselves in taking care of those in need no matter their status or affiliation. In compliance with the bylaws required to be a chapter of the Red Cross, we (as a club) will be required to complete four service projects each school year. These projects include things such as cleaning up damage after a storm has ripped through our backyards, writing Christmas cards to members of the armed forces as they are not able to return stateside and celebrate the holiday season with their loved ones, or participating in a blood drive and giving back medically as our country is still steeped in a health care crisis of great magnitude. The Red Cross is more than an organization that calls your home phone every couple of weeks begging for you to either donate blood or money. The Red Cross is an organization that helps ordinary members of the community thrive and gain their ground when all they know and love has been taken. The Samford University Red Cross Club helps nurture students to understand the goodness and fulfilment of giving back. The Samford University Bulldogs Women's Basketball club will provide an opportunity for women at Samford who wish to keep playing basketball competitively. It will provide a space to build relationships with one another and a chance to make one another better through competition. Practices will be held throughout the allotted season as well as games.

Samford Women's Club Volleyball is an organization that is designed to create a team of competitive female students that have a passion for the sport of volleyball. The purpose of this club is to provide a competitive atmosphere for players with previous experience, without the stress and time commitment that accompanies a collegiate sport. Alongside this, the club hopes to foster new friendships and encourage spiritual growth. Each year, the team will travel and compete at tournaments held by the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation.

Samford Women's Lacrosse Club will strive to serve the student body with the opportunity to excel in Athletics. Any student at Samford is welcome on the team to play lacrosse! We will practice twice a week in the fall, and twice a week in the spring, and play other college club teams throughout the season. Samford Women's Lacrosse Club will promote sportsmanship, hard work, positive self-esteem, responsibility, and fun. We encourage participation, and desire to foster a love for the game of lacrosse. Founded at the University of California, Berkeley in 1919, Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, is a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of South Carolina. Our chapter is one of over 590 and we induct new members each year. Per our national bylaws, our mission is multi-faceted:1. To honor those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples;2. Founded in 1879, the Sigma Nu Iota Chapter is the longest-standing Sigma Nu charter in the nation. In our nearly 150 years at Samford, we have been a staple on campus. The Iota chapter prides itself on commitment to Love, Truth, and Honor. The Mission of Sigma Nu is to Excel with Honor, something the brothers of this chapter have not stopped doing since inception. The chapter is affiliated with numerous philanthropy works, such as Hope for the Warriors, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Habitat for Humanity, and Firehouse ministries. Sigma Nu is best known on campus for its brothers' passion to entertain. Every year members look forward to philanthropy concerts, mixers, and formals.

Apart from being an International English Honors Society, Samford's Sigma Tau Delta chapter's primary goal is to foster a sense of community and involvement within the English Department. Whether it is gathering together for book sales, board game nights, Tea Time, or the spring conference, we encourage all English Majors--including those not yet eligible for membership--to participate in Sigma Tau Delta events and meetings. The Society of Kinesiology is open to any students interested in entering the health and fitness fields after graduation. It provides students with a supportive environment that prepares them for life after graduation by forming networks amongst peers, alumni, and current professionals, opening up opportunities for students to further their education. The goal of the Society of Kinesiology is for students to discover God's calling for them and to have the support necessary for them to pursue it wholeheartedly.

The purpose of this Organization shall be to promote, educate, encouraged and assist members to succeed both academically and socially at the Cumberland School of Law by and through the community and mentorship of South Carolina peers and practicing attorneys. We plan to meet 2-3x a semester.

The Spanish Club exists to cultivate a community of Spanish learners and native speakers on Samford's campus. It promotes an encounter with the Spanish language by facilitating interaction with Hispanic culture, conversation, and community. Our regular events include Spanish "charlas" to practice conversation skills, attending Hispanic/Latino cultural events in the Birmingham area such as the Día de los muertos festival and the FIESTA Birmingham Festival; semesterly Spanish Worship nights; and on campus culturally themed game nights and movie nights. Our mission is to create opportunities for students of all skill levels to increase their understanding of and passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

The Sports Business Club is a student-led organization for those pursuing sports marketing, sports analytics, or sports business degrees. The club provides a forum for aspiring sports business professionals to build effective relationships, learn from current sports business and analytics personnel, develop professional relationships in the industry, and build an understanding of what it is like to work in and around the business of sports.As this group helps students develop professionally, the Sports Business Club intentionally seeks to also help students grow in their understanding of what it means to work as a Christian and witness for The Gospel of Jesus Christ in the sports business world.

The Sports Industry Club is an organization designed to provide students interested in pursuing careers in the sports industry with opportunities for networking and mentorship. The Samford University chapter provides its members with opportunities to meet and learn from industry professionals and attend events with its primary goal being to create a supportive community.

Step Sing began as a sing-along on the steps of Renfroe Hall at the Howard College East Lake Campus in 1951. It was held once a semester and soon became a competition. In 1957, Howard College moved to its present location on Lakeshore Drive, bringing with it the tradition of Step Sing. In 1976, Step Sing moved to its current home in the Samford University Wright Center.Under the direction of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and the Office of Student Activities and Events, Step Sing is organized by students, including musical arrangement, choreography and costume design. Step Sing has become an educational activity in which students participate through leadership development, organizational administration, and time management. Students perform three days to sold-out audiences. It continues to be one of Samford's most popular traditions, and is a popular event not only among students, but also prospective students, employees, alumni, and the Birmingham community.This organization portal serves to house important Step Sing documents, allows Step Sing Directors to submit important files, and gives Step Sing Leadership a online platform for administration of Step Sing student requirements.

The governing organization of the Student Body of Cumberland School of Law shall be known as the Student Bar Association. This organization, through the Executive Branch, has the authority to regulate every phase of student activity and to act as the official voice of the Student Body.

The Samford University Student College of Clinical Pharmacy Chapter is a professional organization that serves to help student pharmacists understand what clinical pharmacy is and why it is important. Through guest speakers at our monthly meetings, SCCP exposes student pharmacists to a variety of different clinical practice areas so that students can gain a better understanding of the many different fields of expertise that they can become a part of after graduating. SCCP holds two yearly competitions for pharmacy students to showcase what they have learned in the classroom. These competitions are the Clinical Pharmacy Challenge and the Clinical Research Challenge. SCCP also holds fundraisers, engaging events, and community outreach opportunities throughout the school year!

The Student Dietetic Association is an affiliate association of the Birmingham District Dietetic Association, the Alabama Dietetic Association, and The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The Student Dietetic Association (SDA) is a student-led organization. All Nutrition/Dietetics majors, Foods/Nutrition majors, and Nutrition minors at Samford are welcome to join the Samford SDA. SDA helps keep majors informed about nutrition issues at the local, state, and national level. SDA helps students prepare to apply for dietetic internships through informative meetings and special projects in the community associated with the Birmingham District Dietetic Association. The SDA provides important opportunities for students to meet and network with dietetic professionals as they progress throughout their undergraduate education. Examples of past involvement include the farmers market, bake sales, and hosting invited speakers to inform students about the field of nutrition. The Office of Student Leadership & Involvement seeks to transform students by promoting and practicing the thoughtful expression of faith, learning, leadership, and service. The office provides support for Samford's Student Government Association and undergraduate student organizations, offers leadership programming and resources, and coordinates the university's annual leadership and service convocation.The Office of Student Leadership and Involvement utilizes the Social Change Model of Leadership to guide its programs. Following this model, programs will contribute to students' leadership development in one of the following areas: consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, and citizenship.

The Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) is an educational service association of pharmacy students who are concerned about the profession of pharmacy, healthcare issues, and the poor minority representation in these areas. The purpose of SNPhA is to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute programs geared toward the improvement of the health, educational, and social environment of minority communities.Objectives:To offer student members the opportunity to develop leadership and professional skills.To educate students about, and promote active participation in national healthcare issues.To develop the role of the minority health professional as a vital member of the healthcare team.To develop within communities a positive image of minority health professionals.To educate communities on better health practices and to increase their awareness and understanding of diseases.

The mission of the Samford Student Physical Therapy Association is to provide Samford DPT students with opportunities for worship, service, fellowship, and professional development. Members of Samford University Students for Life work to save lives threatened by induced abortion, euthanasia, and the destruction of human embryos for research. Samford University Students for Life exists to connect students who want to learn about life issues and work together to support mothers and families in Birmingham to create a culture at Samford that embraces human dignity regardless of age, race, gender, or disability. In furtherance of these goals, members seek to promote respect for life at Samford University and on a local, state, and national level, to educate on life issues, to help those in need so that life is a promising choice, and to work with others who share common goals. To accomplish this goal, Samford University Students for Life will use the following truths to guide every action of the organization: Equip pro-life leaders, grow in understanding, and advocate for life.

The Samford University Film Club’s purpose is to raise awareness of film as an art form, to educate students about cinematic ideas through guest speakers(professors, film students, film professionals from the community, etc.), and to provide a community for students interested in learning about film aesthetics, theory, and history. The club will host a film series and other film events each semester as decided upon by the members.

The Rho Chi is the scholastic honorary society for pharmacy students in the top 20% of the class. Students are selected on the basis of grade point average and overall personal integrity. The purpose of this organization is to raise awareness for suicide through yellow ribbons. We want to maximize accessibility to resources that will support and enhance the lives of those struggling with suicidal thoughts or feeling hopeless. We seek to promote and encourage discussions about suicide to reduce the stigma and make it easier for individuals to seek help. This project is based on Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” We host an annual QPR training program, which allows individuals to recognize the warning signs of suicide and learn how to Question, Prevent, and Refer people at risk for suicide. Students around campus will wear yellow ribbons to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Theta Alpha Kappa is the national honor society for religious studies and theology founded in 1976. Our chapter meets to encourage scholarship in the undergraduate level and host events which facilitate scholarly dialogue regarding Biblical and Religious Studies.

Turning Point USA is a 501c.3 that has chapters on colleges campuses across the entire nation. Turning Point is a non-partisan political organization that allows for civic engagement and helps to create an informative generation of young people. The Turning Point national organization will coordinate with the Samford chapter to bring speakers and host events on Campus. The Turning Point national website describes the organizations as being an organized and powerful conservative grassroots activist network.

The name of the organization shall be the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, Samford University Chapter. The purpose of the organization shall be to recognize, reward, and encourage academic excellence in the study of healthcare management and policy. Membership shall be open to all undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Healthcare Administration at Samford University. Undergraduate members must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale Major GPA in Healthcare Administration, after having declared a healthcare administration major and having completed at least 18 credit hours in the major. The purpose of Women in Law is to provide resources for women in a predominantly male field. We have student mentors, attorney mentors, and opportunities for educational events. Additionally, we also host networking events to provide our members the opportunity to connect the women of the Birmingham legal field.

Young Life's mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.

Zeta Tau Alpha is one of the six Panhellenic sororities on Samford's campus. Our philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. We support this philanthropy by advertising about the importance of breast cancer education and raising money for the foundation. We host events on campus for students to have an opportunity to support this philanthropy. We also host events specifically for ZTA sisters to be a part of. Our open motto is "Seek the Noblest". Our purpose and mission is to help our members grow through ZTA's ideals. Some of ZTA's most important ideals are service, humility, inclusion, and love.
