Alpha Epsilon Delta is vital to the success of pre-health students at Samford University. The goal of this organization is to help prepare undergraduate students for a career in medicine (allopathic, osteopathic, dental, optometric, etc.). We accomplish this goal by hosting guest speakers and information sessions with relevant content for student members. This would include guidance from faculty advisors regarding the admissions requirements and allowing members to connect with other students pursuing similar career paths. Every year, AED holds an initiation ceremony and an officer election. Throughout the year, we host a variety of lectures and workshops that will help students prepare for the admissions cycle. Examples of these events include: Q&A sessions for applications and entry exams, guest speakers from admissions committees, and personal statement workshops. Induction into AED is contingent on academic requirements. Applications and induction happen every Spring semester. Students should join the Pre-Health Student Society to participate in our events even if they are not apart of AED.
