The Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP)

The purpose of this organization is to raise awareness for suicide through yellow ribbons. We want to maximize accessibility to resources that will support and enhance the lives of those struggling with suicidal thoughts or feeling hopeless. We seek to promote and encourage discussions about suicide to reduce the stigma and make it easier for individuals to seek help. This project is based on Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” We host an annual QPR training program, which allows individuals to recognize the warning signs of suicide and learn how to Question, Prevent, and Refer people at risk for suicide. Students around campus will wear yellow ribbons to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
