The proposed name for our student organization is the Sport Administration Association (SAA). We are seeking university recognition because we believe we would provide a unique opportunity and experience that isn’t already offered on campus. We believe that we would enhance the mission, vision, and values of Samford University in providing learning experiences for students, developing the personal empowerment of participants, and developing the academic and career competency of our members.Some ideas we have to serve the Sport Administration major are to provide networking opportunities for our members, provide scholarship opportunities, provide opportunities to visit sports organizations across the Southeast, bring in sport professionals to speak with/to our members, aid in providing opportunities to establish connections with sport professionals in the Birmingham area and beyond.Through these opportunities listed above, we believe that we are embodying the following characteristics of our organization: professionalism, commitment, discovery, and building relationships.
