A More Equitable Union is working to create a more equitable campus community for people of all identities. We critically examine aspects of our campus culture and societal phenomena in an effort to make a more equitable campus community for all. We hold weekly meetings where we cover various efforts related to diversity, equity and inclusion either across the campus community or across society, always relating topics back to our campus experience and how we can make the Union community a more accepting place.A More Equitable Union is open to people of all identities, as people of all identities are valued as a part of the conversation and have valuable insights to share on diversity, equity and inclusion on campus. At Union College, providing equal opportunities for students who experience disabilities is a campus-wide responsibility and commitment. Academic support services are an integral part of equalizing the post-secondary environment for students who experience disabilities.The Accommodative Services Office is committed to providing students with disabilities equal opportunities to benefit from all College services, programs, and activities. We offer peer mentoring for first-year students, an Executive Functioning Support Group, individual academic coaching, and a quiet Study Hall Thursday- Sunday nights from 7-9 pm in our office. The purpose of the Union College chapter of Active Minds for U shall be to create awareness and encourage people to have discussions around the topic of mental health and wellbeing. We also want to be able to create a safe space that allows people to voice their opinions.

The purpose(s) of the Union College Actuarial Science club shall be to introduce students to the actuarial industry and provide informative events to educate those interested in pursuing actuarial science, data science, as well as other similar fields (finance, statistics, etc.). The club will also help students who are interested in the actuarial field (or other similar financial fields) to meet other like-minded students and begin networking within those fields. In addition, the club will serve as an source of information and collaboration for students with the new Financial and Actuarial Mathematics Minor, which is an academic program that has no external student-ran assistance yet, and a relevant club will assist them in providing an informing source to help answer any questions or problems they may have regarding the program. Another goal of the club will be to help make the barriers of entry into the field easier to overcome for prospective actuaries at Union. This will be done through the provision of information to help navigate the complex SOA (Society of Actuaries) programs, as well as connect with outside organizations to help fund exams or other endeavors. Contact has already been made with the CAS University Recognition Program, who works with universities with active extra-curricular actuarial science clubs/programs to help students pursue goals within the field through exam funding, as well as the provision of case studies and other valuable opportunities. Membership in this program as well as other similar programs is crucial to the success of students with the FAM Minor or who are pursuing actuarial science, data science, or other similar fields.

SAE Aero is an engineering club that designs, builds, and tests model aircraft over the course of the year before competing against other schools from around the country and the world at competition in spring term.Students do extensive research into aircraft design before putting that knowledge into practice with the construction and testing of our model planes. Our work includes computer-aided design, foam and balsa construction, carbon fiber composite molding, electronics testing, sensor calibration, and working on a complex project as a team. In addition, we organize outreach and networking with local and national companies. All majors are welcome, and no prior experience is needed! We structure our team to teach new members everything that they would need to know to contribute. Stop by and say hello!

African students, students of African descent and other interested students (and alumni) promote, share and celebrate the African spirit and cultures.

We are the Union College Airsoft Club. Airsoft is a tag-based competitive team sport played all around the world, originating out of Japan. In airsoft, you use replicas that shoot a small spherical projectile to tag your opponents. When you are hit by an airsoft projectile, it is most comparable to being snapped by a rubber band. Hits can leave a small bruise on bare skin, which can usually be avoided by wearing pants and long sleeves. All airsoft players are required to wear full seal ANSI-certified eye protection. While lower face protection isn’t required by law, the Union College Airsoft Club will use hard lower face protection. Our club will be centered around providing students with the ability to explore the sport of Airsoft while maintaining an open atmosphere for casual players and giving developmental opportunities to experienced players, while maintaining a safety-first environment.Since our club will be playing in an outdoor environment, being able to run short distances and carry your replica will help you have a better time. However, Airsoft is a sport that can be played at any physical level. We hope to be able to foster an environment in which anybody feels welcome to join us for a match at our local field!

The purpose of ALPFA at Union College shall be to unite students across various majors, beyond just business-related fields, to foster a diverse and inclusive community. It focuses on enhancing leadership skills and instilling core values such as integrity, credibility, and ethics, which are crucial for success in business professions. Additionally, it seeks to provide a strong foundation of professionalism to help members smoothly transition from student life into their professional careers.

The Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity was founded in 1832 at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York by Samuel Eells (1810-1842). Founded as a literary society, it evolved into one of the most distinguished of the original American college fraternities. It has retained its focus on its literary roots, by attracting only the best students at only the more prestigious colleges and universities in Canada and the United States. Our chapters are leaders on their respective campuses, where some of our chapter houses have been designated architectural or historic landmarks. The Alpha Delta Phi experience has helped a disproportionate number of its 50,000 lifelong members to become top leaders in industry, government, education, and religion.

Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) is the world’s Jewish college fraternity, operating chapters on more than 150 college campuses in four countries. Founded in 1913, AEPi has more than 100,000 living alumni. The fraternity’s mission – developing the future leaders of the Jewish communities – is demonstrated every day through acts of brotherhood, Tzedakah, social awareness and support for Jewish communities and Israel.

Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men, was founded on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of brotherhood among African descendants in this country. The fraternity initially served as a study and support group for minority students who faced racial prejudice, both educationally and socially, at Cornell. The Jewel founders and early leaders of the fraternity succeeded in laying a firm foundation for Alpha Phi Alpha’s principles of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the uplifting of humanity. Alpha Phi Alpha chapters were established at other colleges and universities, many of them historically black institutions, soon after the founding at Cornell. While continuing to stress academic excellence among its members, Alpha also recognized the need to help correct the educational, economic, political, and social injustices faced by African Americans. Alpha Phi Alpha has long stood at the forefront of the African-American community’s fight for civil rights through leaders such as W.E.B. DuBois, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., Edward Brooke, Martin Luther King, Jr., Thurgood Marshall, Andrew Young, William Gray, Paul Robeson, and many others. Since its founding on December 4, 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African Americans and people of color around the world.

Alpha Phi Omega is a co-educational intercollegiate service fraternity that focuses on leadership, friendship, and service as the three pillars of the organization.

Alpha Psi Omega (ΑΨΩ) is the national honor society for collegiate theatre. Alpha Psi Omega works to reward excellence in collegiate theatre and to further promote theatrical work across the campus. The Alpha Kappa Alpha chapter of Alpha Psi Omega was founded at Union College in May of 2025. Membership is open to students of at least sophomore status who have formally declared a major or minor within the department of theater and dance at Union College, and have demonstrated a wide range of ability and talent across multiple areas of theatre. In addition to supporting its members, Alpha Psi Omega hosts several events a term surrounding reading theatrical works, supporting artists, and promoting theatrical shows at Union College.

The American Society of Civil Engineers Club (ASCE) at Union College aims to create an inclusive club for anyone interested in Civil and Environmental Engineering and to be an official ASCE student chapter at Union College.Our club was created to support and expand student interest in the recently revived civil engineering major while highlighting the new Environmental Engineering major. We want to expose students of other majors to civil engineering and introduce them to a variety of careers in that field.In addition, we will create team building and networking skills, while encouraging leadership and creating a supportive and respectful environment.Our biggest project will be competing in the ASCE Steel Bridge Competition.

The Academic Opportunity Program (AOP) is a Union College funded program designed to support students from first-generation, low-income backgrounds through academic counseling and financial aid. It is a sister program to HEOP reserved for Union College students living outside of New York State.

Asian Student Union is a place for Asian and non-Asian students to come together to discuss, appreciate, and celebrate both Asian culture and existence on our campus. ASU is a safe space for students to speak about their experiences and identity, to learn about Asian culture, to eat yummy Asian snacks, and to have fun!

The Union College chapter of the AWM is a club dedicated to the empowerment and inclusion of everyone in mathematics, regardless of gender! We provide a space for women and people of any gender to get to know each other in the math and STEM departments, and we engage with the community to promote equality and involvement in mathematics.

Union College ACM-W is a chapter of Association of Computer Machinery-Women at Union College that promotes computer science within the campus community with a special focus on promoting the participation of less represented identies and commuties in the field of computer science.

Open to Union College students and faculty of all skill levels to play badminton in an organized setting and promote a sense of community between groups that otherwise would not come together.

The SAE Baja team designs, builds, and races a one seat off-road race car at a national competition in the Spring against 100+ colleges from around the world. At competition, we compete in maneuverability tests, suspension tests, acceleration tests and a 4 hour endurance race! There are also presentation components including an engineering design presentation, where you can show off your knowledge of design programs like Solidworks.For the business-oriented thinkers, there's also a mock investor pitch to a panel of investors (think of the TV show Shark Tank) where you can get creative with things like product advertising, marketing, and customer service! There's room for all types of majors and all people in the Baja club!We placed 56th out of 107 overall at the 2024 Baja SAE competition in Williamsport, PA.

Come have some fun and play some baseball! We're just here to have fun, people of any skill level are welcome. We practice about once a week, and play games on weekends.

The Club Basketball Team is a club sport welcome to all students who want to stay active through competitive team basketball. All skill levels are welcome but some experience is expected. We compete against other collegiate club basketball teams in the area on the weekends during our Winter season. Informal practices start in September and become more intensive as we near our Winter season. During the season we usually have up to two practices run by our team coach from Schenectady Highschool.

Students in the beekeeping club not only learn about the complex behaviors of bees and beehives, but they also get to engage with real life bees and interact with bee hives up close. The club currently has 2 hives in the upper left corner of campus (behind what used to be the ceramics house, which is next to the field house). We learn about the environmental conservation of bees by teaming up with other clubs, such as Octopus's Garden.

Best Buddies is a club that strives to create an inclusive and empowering environment for the special needs community. Additionally, this club revolves around the themes of kindness and acceptance towards all. Throughout the year, we will hold club meetings as well as fun and meaningful events.

Beuth hosts awesome events such as BBQs, Destress Event, Lego Building, Trivia, Sledding, Outdoor Movie Nights, and more. Stop by at our weekly meetings on Mondays at common hour to see what we have coming next! Practices are biweekly as we prepare for our four major performances: FallU, Shakti Fall Show, Steinmetz, and the Shakti Spring Show. No previous experience necessary. Big Brother Big Sister is a foundation that helps children all over the United States find their potential and build their futures. Here at Union, we work with the capital region headquarters to match students at Union (bigs) with a mentee (little) from the Schenectady area. The littles (ages 6-18) come to campus every other Sunday to meet with their mentors and do fun activities together.

Our mission is to promote scientific and biological endeavor in the classroom and community at Union College. We host events on campus, such as Biology Jeopardy and Dissect and Digest, that aim to bring together students and Biology faculty. In addition, we spread our passion for biology outside campus, volunteering and create experiments for students in the local Schenectady schools and STEM organizations.

Birding Club is a club for all students of Union that love birds and want to learn more about them. Our club focuses on conservation efforts to help protect local bird species. Bronner House is also known as the diversity house on campus. Within the walls of Bronner, there is a representation of several multicultural & ethnicbackgrounds, including African American, Hispanic, Caucasian, Jewish, and Asian-Pacific American.

COCOA House was established in 1996 by Union College Student Rachel Graham. Graham, who grew up in Schenectady, and understood the challenges many local children faced. She sought to create a program which would promote academic success and expanded opportunities for at-risk youth. The program started out small, operating out of the basement of a local church. Over 25 years COCOA House has become a full-fledged after-school tutoring and enrichment program, operating out of its own facility in the Hamilton Hills section of Schenectady. Today, members of Union’s student body and members of the Schenectady community work together to run the COCOA House program. In addition, COCOA House is directed by a community activist, Founder of Save Our Streets Inc. and Executive Director, Will Rivas. Along with him, a Union student Executive Board (E-Board) oversees programs, sites, events, and finances of COCOA House as well. On the college campus, students will be volunteers as part of the COCOA House Club that works closely with the COCOA House organization.In the past, the organization's focus was tutoring, and while tutoring underserved youth is still a big part of the COCOA House's mission, the emphasis has shifted. Our present leader has encouraged the COCOA House volunteers to see themselves as mentors — trusted, caring adults who support youth in all aspects of their lives, not just school.

Campus Protestant Ministry is the ecumenical progressive Christian presence on Union College's campus, providing spiritual nourishment and enrichment for the academic community and beyond. CPM offers care and support to students to faithfully discern their college and post-graduate journeys through prayer and worship opportunities, as well as discussions and workshops. The Ceramics Club allows students to either learn the art of ceramics or continue pursuing their passion through both hand-building and wheel throwing. Every member of the club will learn how to construct, glaze, and fire pieces and also how to recycle clay., or do as they they wish. Hours Typically occur from 5-7 on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays as well as 1-4 on sundays. What We Do!(Bio)Chemistry club works to show the campus and Schenectady communities that chemistry is cool and exciting! We've collaborated with different communities, making outreach videos and hosting Alumni panel events with Kenny Center, organizing Date presentation with MSA, and organizing Culinary chemistry with CaSA. Our club also holds entertaining chemistry events last year, liquid nitrogen ice cream during Alumni weekend, Flaming Pumpkin during Halloween time, and Bookclub on The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Why Should Join!There will be numerous professional development and outreach activities that give great opportunities to build a network within chemistry-based community engagement. The Union College Chess Club is committed to promoting the game of chess to Union College students and faculty members. 

The vision for this club is to create a welcoming space where individuals can come together to explore the Word of God, grow spiritually, and form meaningful connections through fellowship and prayer. The Bible Study Club will be a place where everyone, regardless of where they are in their faith journey, can feel encouraged and inspired. Through engaging discussions, interactive activities, and a focus on living out biblical principles, I believe this club will not only strengthen individual faith but also foster a sense of unity and purpose within our community. We are committed to building a foundation for the club that prioritizes inclusivity, enthusiasm for learning, and a passion for spreading God’s love. With a clear vision and a heart for ministry, we are eager to see how God will work through this new endeavor to make a lasting impact.

At Union, the Class Deans steer students to resources in all areas of student and academic life. In the first year, Dean Schurick provides guidance as students navigate the transition into college. Then, after the first year, each class is assigned a Class Dean who will stay with them through the remaining three years of their academic program. The Union Financial Network (UFN) connects students who are interested in careers in finance with alumni, parents and friends who work in a broad range of associated areas, including investment and commercial banking, hedge funds, asset management, trading, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital and real estate development. Student-alumni connections are fostered through mentoring, alumni career panels and fora, speakers series and internships. The College Relations department of Union College oversees the relationship for UFN alumni and students.

The Dip is back! Join Colleges Against Cancer, student leaders and the Union College community as we come together to raise money to support students in need through the Shinebarger Memorial Scholarship. We dip in memory of Kristen Shinebarger, the daughter of a Union staff member who inspired the first Dutchmen Dip in 2013. Kristen touched countless lives in and around the Union community. While she lost her courageous battle with cancer in 2018, her determination and grace echo loudly here on campus. The Shinebarger Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to Union students who demonstrate courage in the face of adversity. Recipients are generally those who have utilized or are expected to utilize the Office of Disability Services and require financial assistance to attend Union.While the Dip is our main event we also have other exciting events and collaborations revolved around cancer awareness.

The Union College Comedy Club is meant to be a club where students can learn about, workshop, and express themselves through comedy, in whatever way they might like.

The Community Service House is a Theme House that originated in 1995. We aim to bring together diverse backgrounds and live amongst each other with the common goal of making the house, Union, and local community better! We ask of our residents to complete 20 hours of community service per term whether that be through events held in our house or in other avenues on campus.

Concert Club is a student-run group that brings artists to campus to perform for the Union student body. We usually organize one concert a year, but we hope to have more music-related events more often throughout the school year!

Concordiensis is the student-run newspaper of Union College in Schenectady, New York, United States and is published eight times per trimester. It was founded in November 1877 and is the thirteenth oldest student newspaper in the United States and is the oldest continuously published newspaper in the city of Schenectady. The newspaper’s title, meaning “of or pertaining to union,” has been in use since 1890 and has since been informally called “the Concordy.”

Cooking Club is a student led club with hands on cooking/ preparing to bring a mix of culture and interest in cooking and explore multi cultural and international dishes across the globe

For those who are new to cricket, our club offers the opportunity to learn how to play the second most popular sport on the planet! We welcome all to join and take part in our team when we play games against other colleges! Cricket as a sport can improve hand eye coordination, game awareness but modt of all it is great for team bonding!Join us on the pitch and we’ll show you why we are so passionate about this sport!!

Union College Dance Team is a place where dancers with previous training get together to continue their passion! We perform at Football and Basketball games as well as attend local competitions!

Davidson and Webster

DECA is a competition-based business club that competes against other colleges. There are 25 different categories a student can compete in, such as Event Planning, Professional Sales, Advertising Campaign, Starting a Business, and more. Depending on the category, it is either a “Case Study” or a “Prepared Business Presentation.” In a case study, the student is challenged to analyze a real-world situation involving their category (E.g., Hotel and Lodging). The student will have 30 minutes to prepare a response to the case study, then 15 minutes to deliver it to the judge. For a Prepared Business Presentation, a student must prepare and submit a 10-20 page written entry following DECA's guidelines for the category. The written entries are submitted before the competition date. On the day of the competition, the student will present their entry to a judge. In an entrepreneurial category, the presentation would be a pitch deck. DECA is an international organization with competitors worldwide. In collegiate DECA, there is a state competition in early March, and if students move on, there is an international competition in mid-April. This year's international competition is in Louisville, KY, and next year's will be in Anaheim, CA. We intend to go.

Delta Phi Epsilon was founded on Union's campus in 2018. DPHiE's founding principles are justice, sisterhood, and love. The main philanthropies are The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, and the Educational Foundation.

DIVA (Disability Inclusion, Visibility, and Advocacy) is a student-led group at Union that aims to make Union a more accessible place for all! We hope to make people with disabilities' voices heard on campus. At DIVA, we hope to be an inclusive and active entity on campus in order to make navigating college with a disability (temporary or otherwise) easier along with making sure access needs are met! Through student-led panels, visitor panels, and partnering with DREAM (Disability Rights, Education, Advocacy, and Mentoring) and AHEAD (Association on Higher Education And Disability) to make Union suitable for as many ability statuses as possible.

Welcome to the Dutch Pipers, Union's first acapella group! We are a lower voices group that rehearses two to three times a week, and provide a great space for students wishing to continue singing outside of music classes at the school. Some of our larger performances include our fall showcase concert (typically hosted during week 9 of fall term) and Thruway, which has previously taken place on Proctor's Theater Main Stage! Plenty of current and previous members are involved in a number of other clubs and organizations on campus, including the other acapella groups, Mountebanks, Minervas, Theme houses, and much more! The Economics Club is an organization that promotes career and professional advancement where socially minded students cultivate relationships with alumni, professors, social enterprises and other organizations. Through panels, networking events, workshops, and other activities, Economics Club seeks to prepare students to join an international network of leaders committed to using the power of economics to create a better world. If you have any interest in economics, we recommend joining our club so you can be notified about any events that we host and opportunities you should look into!

We Union's only mixed voices acapella group on campus. We are a fun group of people who enjoy singing and making music together. We perform with the other acapella groups at the fall showcase and Thruway Acapella Competition in the Spring. We are involved in the community by frequently giving performances outside of these major events. We meet 1-2 times a week, and perform around once a term!

UCEMS is a student run organization through the Environmental Health and Safety office here on campus! We hold meetings every Wednesday at Common Hour, where we hold training sessions and have guest speakers. We also work with sports, clubs, etc. to be available for standby and overnight shifts! Everyone is welcome to join (EMT or not) and get some experience in Emergency Medical Services. As a bonus, EMTs can get paid for standby shifts, and everyone gets pizza at our meetings!! We hope to see everyone there!!

Engineers for a Sustainable World is a student-run club that meets during the academic year to build projects that aim to help improve our campus's environmental impact through engineering and discuss important topics pertaining to anything that has to do with the environment and engineering. We share a passion for technical sustainability and the belief that young scientists and engineers hold the key to solving some of the world's biggest problems. Although the name implies that this club is for engineers, any member of the student body is eligible to join. We are hoping to reach out to the community and begin some more projects this upcoming year post-covid. Any new ideas are always welcome.

The Equestrian Club is for people who are interested in horseback riding and anything else horse-related! We hold a variety of events from trail rides in the Adirondacks, to movie nights, to dressage clinics, and during COVID we even attended some equine-themed webinars. The Garnettes is a student-run, all-treble a cappella group here at Union! We meet twice a week to practice, and once a year we compete in Thruway, a competition between a capella groups from Union and other schools, at Proctor's Theater. We have been declared the winners of Thruway for many times! We perform popular pieces that the group chooses by vote. Songs we have sung in the past include "Blame it on the Boogie," "hate to be lame," "W.I.T.C.H.," and more! We are a close-knit group with a love of music and performance. The Garnettes hold auditions at the beginning of every school year, and sometimes throughout the year at the beginning of each term, and we strongly encourage those with a love of singing to try out! The main goal of the club hockey team is to provide competitive inter-collegiate hockey for students at Union College outside of the varsity level. The Interfraternity Council is the governing council for six of Union's fraternities! Under the IFC are Alpha Delta Phi, Chi Psi, Kappa Alpha, Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi, and Theta Delta Chi. The IFC serves the needs of its member fraternities through advocacy, collaboration, and education. Iris House is the first Union College residential space dedicated to concerns of the LGBTQ+ community. It aims to provide a space for LGBTQ+ students and student allies to live. Iris house also runs events to raise awareness about historical and contemporary LGBTQ+ issues and allow students to express their unique identities.

It's Up to U includes UC's bystander intervention programming; workshops on dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking; resources and information on all topics relating to gender-based violence; speakers on these topics; and collaborative events with faculty, staff, students, and community members.

?The Kelly Adirondack Center is an interdisciplinary research center and policy facility dedicated to the study of Adirondack culture, environment, conservation, and the physical sciences.In 2011, Union College strengthened its historic relationship with the Adirondacks by purchasing the former home of conservationist Paul Schaefer. The home, located in nearby Niskayuna, houses the Adirondack Research Library, which boasts a unique collection of material on the Adirondack Park and the New York State Forest Preserve, including rare books, maps, photographs, documents and the personal papers of some of the region’s foremost conservationists.The result is the Kelly Adirondack Center at Union College, which offers exciting opportunities to advance Union’s understanding of the mountains, wilderness and waterways of this tremendous natural resource. The Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) was founded by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), the nation’s oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. The primary objective of the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students is to represent previously underrepresented minority medical students and to establish a widespread support network for these students through community service and a steadfast dedication to eliminating ethnic health disparities in all aspects of medicine and patient care. The Union College Mountebanks are the college's longest-running musical theater and performing arts group on campus. We are entirely student run: student directors, producers, designers, actors, and stage crew!

We provide students with the opportunity to try different dance styles with no prior experience! We strongly believe that dance is for everyone. We offer the chance for different students to teach, lead classes and set choreography. We will introduce new dance techniques in our weekly meeting which will give club members the unique ability to experiment in dance genres they have never tried before and to learn the cultural history behind them. The Needlecraft Club is a space for anyone who enjoys doing—or is interested in learning—needlecrafts (knit, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, etc.). All are welcome! We aim to provide students with an opportunity to destress and socialize as they work on both individual and group projects.

Pep Band is a group of students who love to play music together! We play at hockey games and energize the crowd while cheering for Union! We play many popular songs, such as "Bad Romance", "Sweet Caroline", and "Stacy's Mom". Additionally, we play musical tunes in pop culture, such as the themes from Jeopardy and Tetris! We also perform more traditional pep band songs such as "Centerfold" and our Alma Mater. We are always excited to welcome new members and students of all skill levels, experience, and instrumentation are welcome to join.

The purpose of the Union College Outing Club is to provide an opportunity for students to spend time in the great outdoors and experience the natural world. Through these experiences, students learn about environmental ethics and practical skills that can be applied in other aspects of day-to-day life. As students, we spend most of our time inside focused on academic studies, but it is crucial to also go outside and experience what nature has to offer.Union College is fortunate to be surrounded by three amazing state parks, the Catskill Mountains to the south, the Green Mountains to the east, the Adirondacks to the north. Additionally, there are numerous lakes and rivers nearby, which offer a vast wilderness to explore. We hope to offer as many students at Union College a chance to augment their academic education with an outdoor experience. We also offer to students the chance to escape the Union College Campus and Schenectady area. Often students find themselves with little to do in the Schenectady area, so we offer students the opportunity to relax in the outdoors and breathe some fresh air. These trips allow for students to unwind and we encourage students to remember that their time at college is to be enjoyed.We reach out to our fellow students through events including backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, climbing, whitewater rafting, and canoeing. Following the name, we're a predominantly outdoor oriented club and nearly all of our events occur off campus in nature. Aside from the physical aspects, we strive to educate students on different aspects of the great outdoors like backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace ethics, wilderness survival & bushcraft skills, and orienteering.Our goal over the next year is two-fold: first, to build a consistent base of outdoor adventurers that are more self-reliant on the excursions we provide. This means that we can supply the gear, transportation, and planning, but once the trip starts leave it to the rest of the group to manage their own experience with us "leading from the rear" so-to-speak. Second, we want to also include people who haven't had much exposure to the outdoors and give them the opportunity to experience it in a safe, open, and available environment and (hopefully) get them to become a consistent member!

Ozone Haüs is one of the most active theme houses at Union, and we have been going strong since the mid 2000s! We are the environmental action and sustainable living theme house. We have a strong sense of community, which we continue to foster through bonding activities like taking turns cooking a vegetarian house dinner and eating together every Sunday night. We host a vegetarian/vegan lunch every Friday at Old Chapel called 'Ozone Cafe' by working with dining and serving the meals ourselves- this is one of our most popular events on campus! We also host educational and volunteer events, dance parties, music shows and other fun things in and around the house. Being a member of Ozone isn't like living in any other dorm or house, we have house responsibilities, traditions and artifacts you won't find anywhere else!We love having such an active presence on campus but are looking to become even more involved by interacting with other organizations, clubs, and housing on improving sustainable action on campus. The Panhellenic Council is the governing body for the PC member Sororities. During college, an NPC sorority offers women personal and professional support within a smaller group of friends in a larger college environment. With this support, her individual personal and leadership development is fostered through attending seminars as well as holding officer and committee positions within the chapter.Membership in a PC sorority enhances women’s academic achievement by providing several forms of support to assist her, from study resources to quiet study areas. We develop leaders and create innovative ways tounite the Latino CommunityOur fraternity's roots extend from the late 19th century to the first Latino fraternity and the first Latino student organization in the United States. Our brotherhood is composed of university and professional men committed towards the empowerment of the Latin American community. We do this by providing social, cultural programs and activities geared towards the appreciation, promotion, and preservation of Latin American culture.

During the weekly meetings, members will discuss a variety of subtopics within the study of philosophy including, but not limited to: political theory, metaphysics, logic, epistemology, religion, and philosophy of the mind. These topics may be explored in a traditional manner, such as thought-experiments and analysis of famous writings, or in more casual ways by appealing to pop culture references, facilitating activities, etc. The goal of Philosophy Club is to design these discussions in a way that properly engages with philosophical elements, but that does not require students to necessarily have a preconceived understanding of philosophy itself. Our aim is to introduce students, or further expose them, to philosophical questions and considerations in a more informal environment than that of a classroom; discussions will be enlightening, but also light-hearted and fun!

We provide opportunities for students of all skiing and snowboarding abilities to go to a variety of mountains throughout the northeast most weekends of the winter term. We always look to have fun and make sure to Point Em'!

For those who love to play soccer, but are not on the varsity team. We try and meet two or three times a week for a fun, light hearted practice session, and hope to play a few games against other club soccer teams. Everyone is free to come and play. The more the merrier. It is a great way to meet new people with common interests, and a great place to come and play/chat about soccer.

We offer an opportunity for women of all skill-levels to get to play soccer in a fun and friendly team environment. We practice weekly and compete in local league competitions.

The Templeton Institute (TI) of Engineering and Computer Science promotes and strengthens transformative activities in engineering and computer science within a liberal arts educational environment. This club serves as a way to connect all types of tennis players of all skill levels to play recreationally. The club meets a couple of times a week during Fall and Spring term to either practice or play matches with one another at the campus courts. Anybody is welcome to join, even those who have not played before. This club will give people the opportunity to discover and explore the wonderful sport of tennis. The goal is to have a good time with peers while playing tennis! This club also serves as a way for students to meet new students who also share the same interest.

The Body Project is a psychology based program aimed at preventing eating disorders in young adults. It promotes body positivity and acceptance, and teaches participants of its workshops ways to combat the 'appearance ideal' that is pushed in society, and how to instead stay healthy and be body confident. It is a research project in the Psychology Department run by Professor Catherine Walker, as well as a club for students to become involved in.

Students, staff, administrators, and faculty who have new ideas about how to increase and celebrate diversity and promotion of community at Union may apply for a Unitas grant to make their idea become a reality. Open to all students, the CO-ED Volleyball Club seeks to create a fun, inclusive, and competitive space for lovers and learners of volleyball. All skill levels are welcome. The club practices at least once a week and will be competing in local tournaments. Bring your A-Game!

The Wicker Wellness Center is a two-story, 6,600-square-foot facility adjacent to the Alumni Gym. It includes Health Services and the Eppler-Wolff Center for Psychological Services. Health Services (located on the first floor) is staffed by nurse practitioners, registered professional nurses and a collaborating physician. The Eppler-Wolff Center for Psychological Services (located on the second floor) offers confidential counseling, as well as group education and outreach opportunities. We live in a globalized world. Union prides itself in being one of the colleges where more people do term abroad, but we should not rely on traveling abroad in order to diversify our campus when we can make it happen here. The international culture should be demonstrated as much inside the campus as outside the campus. International students promote diversity, give access to different cultures, as well as encourage different perspectives which gives a more critical approach in many disciplines. International students also provide different approaches on campus and may have different opinions.We are in the process of updating our mission and constitution!

The Office of Writing Programs sponsors writing-related activities on campus, including events and activities in the Writing Center and workshops connected to Union's Writing Across the Curriculum program.

WRUC 89.7 FM is the oldest non-commercial college radio station in the United States, hence our slogan "The First Station in the Nation!" We broadcast live 24/7 from right here at Union. Shows are hosted by student DJs who are passionate about sharing music and stories. We also DJ campus-wide events like Club Expo, Homecoming, and Pride Fest, and host events like Battle of the Bands, open mic nights, and listening parties. General Body and E-Board meeting schedules for Fall '25 are TBD.

Our mission is to promote self-development and well-being through the practice of yoga and meditation. To provide students an opportunity to learn basic yoga poses, breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, improve mind-body connection, etc. To provide students the opportunity to implement these practices/exercises into their day to day lives in order to help manage stress, improve emotional regulation, increase self awareness, create a greater sense of well being, increase feelings of relaxation, improve self-confidence, encourage an optimistic outlook on life, etc.
