Organizations at Brown

180 Degrees Consulting is the world’s largest consultancy for non-profits and social enterprises. At Brown’s chapter, we work specifically with clients in the local Providence area to give back to the people and services in our community. As a part of our club, you’ll be placed in one of the five project teams that work with different Rhode-Island based organizations of various industries every semester as you develop tangible and transferable skills within our tight-knit community.

The purpose of Brown Abhinaya shall be to: (1) provide a space for students interested in classical forms of Indian dance [e.g. Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi etc.] to practice and prepare dance pieces, (2) share classical dance performances with the Brown community through various organized functions during the year, and (3) participate in interscholastic classical dance competitions.

Brown Active Minds is a chapter of the national Active Minds organization dedicated to destigmatizing mental health and building community on campus. We meet weekly, holding a combination of educational, advocacy, and de-stressing/fun meetings. We believe in the power of open conversation and peer support to improve mental health.

Brown Addiction Medicine Club (BAMC) provides opportunities for Brown University and Providence communities to fight against substance use disorders through de-stigmatization, evidence-based education, overdose response training, and volunteer outreach. BAMC invites all students at Brown, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or caste.

Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) is a student-led ministry with a goal of establishing a space open to any and all Brown students where they can grow spiritually, intellectually and rationally through the lens of Seventh-day Adventist faith and practice. ACF serves all students on Brown campus interested in scripture, community, holistic living and Sabbath-centered spirituality. The mission of ACF is to nurture Christian believers into disciples of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through fellowship, Bible Studies, health and wellness programming, service projects, and mentorship supported by local Adventist churches and alumni, ACF seeks to lead students to accepting Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord, united in His ministry and Church through Grace and Love. ACF is connected to a much broader network of Adventist campus ministries across North America and beyond.

Brown Aerial Acrobatics is a club dedicated to learning, practicing, and performing aerial arts. Our goal is to grow, both mentally and physically, in the practice various aerial techniques under the supervision of student coaches. Our coached apparatuses include aerial hoop (lyra), static trapeze, silks, and aerial rope.

The Brown Aeronautic Design Initiative (BADI) provides a space for all Brown students to improve their design and manufacturing skills in aerospace applications through the construction of sport RC planes. The Brown Aeronautic Design Initiative is open to all Brown students seeking to improve their design and manufacturing skills in aerospace applications through the construction of RC Sport Planes.

Brown Afghan Society (BAS) is open to all Brown students interested in learning about and engaging with Afghan culture. BAS welcomes anyone who wants to participate in dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Our mission is to raise awareness of the diverse aspects of Afghanistan and its people, and to foster a community of informed, curious, and connected students across campus.

AfriSA aims to unite the African community and those interested in the African continent at Brown University to celebrate diverse identities. AfriSA engages the campus in learning about the diverse cultures, histories, and issues pertaining to the continent through educational, cultural, and social activities. We organize major events like an Annual Spring Culture show, mixers, speaker series, and collaborate with other cultural student groups to hold inclusive social events.

AGI @ Brown aims to be the source of innovation in the Brown computer science community that sparks students to develop AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). We foster a hands-on, collaborative environment for students of all concentrations to build, train, and deploy cutting-edge AI models. We will also compete in AI competitions such as the ARC prize. Students will also take on leadership roles across technical, strategic, and creative domains to contribute to the development of AGI.

BAIST is a student group, concerned about catastrophic risks from advanced AI systems. They conduct reading groups, lead workshops, and host speakers on matters related to AI Safety

The club is dedicated to teaching AIKIDO, an effective, non-violent, traditional Japanese martial art, that focuses on using the energy of an opponent to protect the opponent & oneself using empty-hand techniques consisting of grabs & pins to quickly & safely that the opponent’s balance. AIKIDO also teaches bukiwaza or weapons techniques of the wooden sword & walking staff. AIKIDO is non-competitive, taught in a cooperative manner, good exercise & fun. The club holds weekly practices & seminars.

AIRES at Brown’s mission aims to educate tomorrow's AI leaders in ethical AI principles to ensure AI is created ethically and responsibly. AIRES at Brown also educates the broader Brown University population who are sure to be impacted by AI on AI uses, advancements, and dangers to prepare them for AI’s impact on various industries and facets of life. AIRES at Brown achieves its mission of ensuring AI’s construction, output, and impact are ethical through guest speaker, research, and other events.

The ASA is an organization that serves all Brown community members interested in Albanian culture and heritage. It seeks to introduce and represent the rich Albanian heritage to the wider campus community and create a space for dialogue regarding issues related to Albania and Albanians, as well as serve as a supportive community and welcoming space for all Albanian & Albanian-American students and students of all other backgrounds with an interest in Albanian tradition, history, and language.

Brought together by a love of music and a passion for Jewish culture, the Alef Beats have been singing up and down the East Coast since their inception in 2005. They sing in all styles and formats, including Western pop, old Yiddish melodies, and modern Hebrew songs. Their all-gender membership includes those from as far as Southeast Asia and as close as Providence. Through it all, the Beats remain united with a common friendship and a healthy appreciation for Jewish values and tradition.

The Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS) is an independent, nonpartisan, not for profit organization dedicated to promoting constructive debate on basic principles and contemporary issues in American foreign, economic, and national security policy.

Brown Alliance for Ukraine (BAU) is a cultural club that promotes Ukrainian culture, history, and politics through advocacy, educational events, and cultural programming on campus. BAU hosts a Ukrainian Language Table and supports the Ukrainian Library Project. The club is open to all Brown students and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.

The Brown Alt Protein Project, proudly supported by the Good Food Institute, is dedicated to advancing the development of alternative proteins. Through our weekly meetings, outreach efforts, research coordination, educational programs, and awareness campaigns, we passionately advocate for sustainable food systems. Our goal is to inspire a profound shift towards equitable food practices in Brown, Rhode Island and across the world.

The Alumnae Hall Advisory Board (AHAB) is a body of representatives from Brown student groups that facilitates the use of Alumnae Hall for performances and other events. AHAB fulfills the management needs of Alumnae Hall in its growing role as a student performance space. As a Category II group, AHAB has ownership over Alumnae Hall's stage, lighting, sound, and theatrical equipment and will perform maintenance, make policy decisions, and train student groups in the equipment's use.

Brown Alzheimer's Activists (BAA) is a peer advocacy group open to the entire Brown community focusing on Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and related dementias. The mission of BAA is to promote the advocacy of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. Its goal is to spread awareness, educate its members with panel events and lab tours, fundraise money that will be donated to AD research, volunteer to improve the quality of life of those living with PD as well as their families/caregivers, and spread brain health education to broader communities. BAA holds biweekly meetings, weekend volunteer opportunities at local long-term care facilities, and various events throughout the semester including lab tours, panel events, fundraisers, and the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's.

ACS at Brown strives to support cancer patients and families, achieving the vision of a cancer free world. Through the four avenues of advocacy, education, fundraising and clinical patient support, our club embraces a holistic approach toward promoting cancer awareness and change. We will participate in national, state, and local events under the American Cancer Society, providing club members with unique experiences and opportunities.

The Brown ACLU, a chapter of the ACLU of Rhode Island, is open to all students, and there shall be no discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or caste. The ACLU calls attention to encroachments on civil liberties, holds events and publicizes recognition of civil rights on campus, and collaborates with the RI ACLU in doing so.

Welcome to the Brown University chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)! This chapter focuses on creating a community for students studying, or interested in, chemical engineering. Students will have the opportunity to attend the AIChE Annual Student Conference, where they compete in the student poster competition and meet with potential future employers at the recruitment fair. The Brown chapter also organizes an annual liquid nitrogen ice cream event. AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with over 40,000 members from over 90 countries.

Brown University American Medical Women's Association, AMWA, is a student organization open to all members of the Brown undergraduate community, bringing together individuals in medicine and health-related fields to promote women's health and support both professional and personal development.

Guided by the fundamental principles of the American Red Cross and its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors, the Brown American Red Cross Club (BARC) will learn, practice and exemplify humanitarian values through mission-related service projects.

Amnesty International at Brown is a student-led human rights organization open to all students. We raise awareness about global and local human rights issues through campaigns, events, and advocacy. Our group empowers students to take action against injustice and work toward a more just and equitable world.

Brown Analytics Group (BAG) aims to provide an introductory club to any type of data analytic, with an emphasis on sports analytics. It is open to all Brown students, graduate or undergraduate. We are not a pre-professional organization, as we aim to help students develop skills and passion for data analytics.

BARC is a passionate collective that advocates for the rights and welfare of all sentient beings. The club engages in a variety of activities aimed at encouraging compassion for and fair treatment of all animals. This includes weekly discussion meetings, outreach events such as movies, activism, and lectures, field trips to local animal rights organizations, and engagement in the cooking and enjoyment of vegan food. We are committed to fostering community and promoting veganism at Brown and in Rhode Island.

Brown Animation Team provides a space for animators and artists from Brown to learn and work collaboratively to create animated films. Weekly meetings allow members to participate in several aspects of the animation pipeline, such as story writing, animating, and critique. We also hold workshops for students new to animation to get them familiar with different skills. BAT enables students of all levels of animation to come together to create inspiring and meaningful works of art!

The Brown Anime Society comes together to watch and discuss a wide variety of genres and works within Japanese animation. They meet twice a week to watch anime together, and attend conventions and sometimes film screenings off-campus.

Brown Anime Video Game Ensemble (AVGE) is a student-led, student-run ensemble that arrangers and performs songs from anime and video games. We are accept all students regardless of musical experience, including members of Brown Graduate School and RISD.

ACAB engages abolition in theory and practice through mutual aid projects, volunteering with community organizations, fundraising, and political education. ACAB believes the end of prisons - of all forms - requires the destruction and dismantling of systems of homophobia, transphobia, anti-Blackness, imperialism, misogyny, colonialism, and racial capitalism, all of which intersect with the prison-industrial complex. The group is non-hierarchical; it values the voices and ideas of all members.

The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) aims to build a supportive and inclusive community bringing together students invested in understanding and addressing the unique health challenges currently faced by Asian Pacific American populations. APAMSA is open to all students, offering opportunities for education, outreach, and professional growth through initiatives such as community health workshops, speaker events, and collaborations with local organizations.

The Arab Society at Brown is a welcoming and inclusive student organization committed to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures, histories, and traditions of the Arab world. Through a variety of events—including cultural celebrations, guest speakers, film screenings, and discussions—the club creates opportunities for meaningful engagement and cross-cultural dialogue. While it serves as a community space for Arab-identifying students, the organization is open to all Brown students, regardless of background, who are interested in learning about or connecting with the Arab region. The Arab Society aims to build lasting relationships across communities by promoting education, cultural awareness, and mutual respect.

The Brown Argentina Student Society strives to be an open space on campus for every and all interested in Argentine culture to get to know more of the traditions, art, and customs that shape it. BASS aims to foster a strong sense of community among Argentine students at Brown and with anyone within the Brown community interested in getting to know and immersing themselves in the Argentine culture. Through inclusive events and gatherings, we are committed to celebrating Argentine culture while building meaningful connections across students from different backgrounds."

The Armenian Student Association strives to unite all students through the celebration of Armenian culture. We share Armenian heritage, history, and cuisine through a variety of events, including cooking sessions, film nights, guest lecturers, and other cultural activities. The Armenian Student Association is not limited to those of Armenian ancestry and is open to students of all backgrounds and perspectives.

ARRR!!! is an an acapella group dedicated to preserving and performing historical folk, labor, and sea music. Also, they dress up like pirates and act very silly.

Art for Service meets weekly to create artwork that benefits the local community, both on campus and beyond. In the past, the organization has painted large canvas panels to donate to Sojourner House and raised money to buy goods for both the RI Food Bank and Refugee Dream Center through live-painting sessions at Waterfire and the Lindemann Opening Ceremony. A4S Also works collaboratively with other clubs on campus and has created coloring pages for hospital patients.

The Brown University Art Review (BAR) is Brown’s premier magazine dedicated to the study, review, and appreciation of art on the hill and around the world. Established in 2023, BAR is a fully student-written and student-run publication, issuing weekly editions on its website and annual printed publications. Open to any student interested in art from Brown and RISD, BAR fosters a community of zealous art lovers, thereby strengthening the Rhode Island artistic community in Providence and beyond.

The Association for Women in Mathematics provides a space for all students who are interested in issues impacting underrepresented gender identities in MATH/APMA through community building, mentorship, and professional development. AWM events are for undergrad and grad students and range from casual meetings, to informal advising and mentoring, and even professional development panels focused on issues impacting minorities in Math/APMA. AWM and its events are open to all, regardless of gender or concentration, ensuring equitable opportunity and inclusivity in mathematics.

The Astronomy Club hosts stargazing and astronomy/astrophysics outreach events. In addition, the club assists in university-wide astronomy planning with the Physics Department and the Rhode Island Space Grant. The Astronomy Club aims to foster a welcoming environment for all those who are interested in astronomy and outer space. Past projects include a viewing of the Green Comet for over 200 people, Brown’s eclipse viewing, and weekly observing events at Barus and Holley.

We provide space for all students to learn and discuss the integration of faith, sport, and life. Through guest speakers (mostly former collegiate/pro athletes), team building activities, and small group discussions, we explore the intersection of the spiritual and the physical in order to maximize our potential.

Attitude Dance Company is an entirely student-choreographed, multi-style dance group. Attitude welcomes dancers from all backgrounds and abilities and try to include dancers with a variety of strengths to learn from each other – intentionally aiming to create an environment that is diverse, welcoming, and accepting. Performance and sharing dance is an important part of our company, so Attitude organizes one show per semester and participates in many performances around campus throughout the year.

The Brown Autistic Student Union is a vibrant community where students gather to celebrate autistic ways of being and thinking and to smash neuronormativity. Our vision is to build a world that embraces and empowers all ways of thinking, feeling, and being. Brown Badmaash Dance Company is a student-run, South Asian fusion dance team at Brown University. We are open to people of all backgrounds, genders, experience levels, and class years. Every year, we proudly produce a spring show and compete nationally, in addition to several fundraisers and workshops.

Brown Ballet Company is a student-led organization that focuses on ballet as their primary dance style. BBC holds regular company classes and rehearsals, intermediate classes, and workshops (such as beginner ballet classes and variations) open to all Brown and RISD students. They plan on hosting a classical performance every fall semester (ex. The Nutcracker) and a student choreographed show every spring semester.

Ballet&Books is a volunteer organisation that partners with a local elementary school. They aim to close the literacy gap through a unique 1:1 curriculum with dance and movement styles included. This organisation is open to all, whether you have worked with youth before, are a dancer, or neither! Ballet&books strives to have a diverse set of mentors that can enrich the children's experience.

Brown Ballroom is a group of Ballroom Dance enthusiasts comprised of Brown affiliates, RISD affiliates, and members from the nearby community (anyone is welcome)! We have many hours of weekly lessons where our members can learn and focus on the competitive and/or social aspects of Ballroom Dance!

Brown Barsaat is Brown's premier South Asian a cappella group. Students of all backgrounds are welcome to join as Barsaat performs music by South Asian artists — whether that's a pop/Bollywood medley, a classical South Asian song, or a Western pop song by an artist of South Asian heritage. Barsaat is a co-ed group that arranges all of their own music.

The Bear Necessities is Brown’s premier all-suspendered, all-spectacular, a cappella group, specializing in tenor-bass vocal performance. With their energetic style and unique sound, they blend high-quality music with exciting delivery to create an unforgettable experience for their audiences. Open to all Brown and RISD undergrads, the group values musicality, community, and fun.

Brown Beatboxing Club is a community for anyone interested in human vocal percussion, also known as beatboxing. The club offers workshops, hosts battles, guest artists, and showcases to highlight student talent. It welcomes students of all backgrounds and experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned performers, and is open to all Brown students.

The Beekeeping Society is a common-interest and advocacy group that fosters discussion around and appreciation of issues related to bees and other pollinators. They are open to all Brown University and RISD students as well as members of the Providence community.

The Bengali Students Association (BSA) is a cultural and community-focused organization celebrating Bengali heritage, fostering community among students interested in Bengali culture, and sharing the rich traditions, history, and arts of Bengal within the broader community. Throughout the year, we host events like cultural movie nights, festive celebrations (e.g. Pohela Boishakh/Bengali New Year), and discussions on identity and belonging.BSA is open to all students and strives to create a “home away from home” by building spaces where students can connect, express themselves, and meaningfully enjoy culture. Additionally, the BSA aims to build a support network for students, providing opportunities for leadership development and intercultural dialogue through everyone’s diverse experiences. Whether you're Bengali or simply curious to learn more about the region’s culture, history, and cuisine, you’re always invited to join us.

BB @ Brown is a chapter of Best Buddies International that strives to encourage and create positive social connections between individuals with and without intellectual/developmental disabilities. This is achieved through organized social events and one-to-one buddy matches which are nurtured over club meetings.

Better World by Design is a student-led initiative at Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design that celebrates the interdisciplinary collaboration between designers, educators, innovators, and learners.

The purpose of Brown Bhairavi shall be to provide a space for students interested in classical forms of South Asian music [i.e. Carnatic, Hindustani, etc.] to (1) learn about and practice forms of South Asian classical music, and (2) share South Asian classical music with the Brown community through various performances, lecture demonstrations, and workshops.

Bikes at Brown is a student volunteer student run bike shop for all members of the Brown/RISD community to have their bikes serviced and repaired, learn how to work on bikes, and borrow a bike. We strive to be a community center for all people interested in bikes.

Biokind Analytics at Brown is the premiere student-led data science organization supporting healthcare non-profit organizations through impact-driven analysis. Through partnerships with cancer foundations and other high-impact healthcare nonprofits, members apply data science to real-world health challenges while advancing missions rooted in social good. The club is open to all undergraduates and warmly welcomes members from diverse academic backgrounds, skill levels, and lived experiences.

The purpose of BRIC shall be to create a space for interdisciplinary collaboration and learning around biomaterials, where people of all backgrounds can work together on physical projects involving biomaterials and sustainable materials. Our members make bioplastics, utilize waste scraps such as wood dust, wood chips, and textile scraps, and discover unusual combinations of all of these materials to innovate for a more sustainable future.

The BioMedical Engineering Board (BMEB) was established in the spring of 2019 by graduate students to facilitate student-faculty and student-program cohesion by increasing graduate student representation in program decisions and creating opportunities to solicit and implement iterative feedback. The proposed avenues for student involvement aim to create a more cohesive program community in which graduate students feel valued and respected and have the opportunity to create meaningful relationships outside of their primary advisor and lab.

The Black American Student Union, a community building club, hosts a variety of events that focus on celebration and awareness.

BCM is a group that is open to all full-time undergraduate members of the Brown community regardless of race, color, religion, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex. seeking fellowship and community in a space valuing both the Christian faith and the people and cultures of African descent. Our mission is to deepen our relationship with God while sharing His love and His message with Brown’s campus. Every week, we gather for Bible study, where we study and discuss a Bible passage while sharing a meal together! Our Bible study is completely student-led; the questions, experiences, and thoughts of BCM members often influence the topic chosen each week.

Founded in 2020 at Brown University, The Black Consulting Initiative’s mission is to educate all students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds, on consulting as a viable career path. By developing students’ consulting and professional skills through informational and collaborative workshops on topics ranging from interview strategies, resume building, consulting frameworks, case prep, and social events that afford them the chance to network with alumni, consulting firm representatives, and other club members, students are given the knowledge and structural support necessary to break into the consulting industry. Because the Black Consulting Initiative recognizes that experiential learning is key in this industry, we also offer our Spring Consulting Projects as an opportunity for students to work as a pro-bono boutique firm to apply consulting skills to low-resourced businesses, including those from underrepresented backgrounds within the Northeast. The Black Consulting Initiative gives equal and equitable opportunity to all who utilize our services. We encourage and build up students’ repertoire so they may succeed in consulting and all other professional endeavors they may pursue.

Black in Business at Brown (BIBB) is a dynamic and inclusive club dedicated to fostering a supportive community for all Brown students including Black individuals interested in business. Our mission is to create networking opportunities, promote professional development, and empower our members to thrive in the world of business. We host peer-to-peer, company, and professional networking events, entrepreneur showcases, socials, company trips, and sponsor our members to attend professional conferences.

Black Men United (BMU) empowers all students, including Black men on campus by fostering leadership, visibility, and solidarity. BMU is open to all students who support our mission. We build cultural awareness around the unique experiences of Black men and address systemic issues through mentorship, community building, and educational initiatives, creating a supportive environment where members feel represented, heard, and inspired to lead with confidence.

The Black Muslim Society (BMS) is a student-led organization dedicated to building community, fostering belonging, uplifting voices, and drawing inspiration from the Qur’an as well as the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace be upon him). BMS provides a safe and supportive space where students can explore the intersections of Black and Muslim identities, celebrate cultural and religious diversity, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Our mission is to create a supportive (and fun) environment where intersections of various backgrounds and perspectives are explored and celebrated. BMS is open to all students.Through mentorship, leadership opportunities, educational initiatives, and community-building programs, BMS works to empower students and highlight their contributions. We strive to create a campus environment where their experiences are affirmed and valued, allowing members to feel represented and supported. The organization welcomes all students, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, who seek to learn, connect, and contribute to a more inclusive and understanding campus community.

Brown’s Black Pre-Law Association is an organization open to all Brown students who embrace the mission of counteracting challenges minority students encounter when entering the legal field. The organization provides law-related resources and creates a tight-knit community of support.

BPMS is dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering community for all Brown University students, regardless of their background (race, sex, religion, etc) with a particular focus on issues impacting Black students pursuing medical and/or health-related careers. The club promotes academic excellence, professional development, and leadership opportunities, while also advocating for diversity and inclusion in medicine. BPMS inspires and equips our members with the tools to succeed in their pre-medical studies and beyond.

The Black Star Journal’s purpose is to create a reliable source of news, life, existence, and culture where Brown and RISD students are invited to create and learn about Black history on campus. The newspaper works to connect the vast collection of voices, including Black voices, on and around Brown’s campus to build a stronger and better-informed community. The Black Star welcomes students from all backgrounds to uplift the stories, dreams, and ideas of the school’s Black community.

The BSU serves as a central hub for Black cultural, political, and social life on campus. Open to all students, BSU fosters community through events like Black Convocation, Welcome B(l)ack to School Cookout, the Black History Month Concert, and the Black Excellence Showcase. We celebrate and uplift Black identity and create inclusive spaces that empower all students to connect, organize, and thrive.

Brown Organization of Multiracial and Biracial Students (BOMBS) is a student organization open to all students and explores issues impacting students from mixed cultures and experiences within a mixed community. We strive to cultivate a sense of identity, community, and unity through campus outreach, greater-community involvement, and numerous other activities. We stand foremost against racism and colorism, and also condemn sexism, queerphobia, cissexism, ableism, and imperialism in all their forms. We stand in solidarity with all racially oppressed people. We hope to foster understanding by sharing the cultures and experiences of people of mixed descent at Brown and beyond.

The purpose of Boricuas@Brown is to encourage all students to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage, history, and culture, building upon the work of the former Puerto Rican Students Association (PRsA). We also work to educate, discuss and encourage advocacy for issues and current events impacting Puerto Ricans on the island and in the mainland United States.

The Bouncing Bears group is Brown's only jump rope club! The group welcomes anyone from absolutely no experience to those who have jumped competitively - all are welcome. The Bouncing Bears hold weekly practices where anyone can come, learn a few tricks and types of jump rope, and meet others interested in having a fun way to exercise! The group has also performed in various showcases with other dance groups and will jump on the main green when the weather is warm.

The Brown Brain Bee hosts free weekly lessons for local high schoolers, where volunteer instructors cover a wide range of neuroscience concepts. Near the end of the school year, these lessons culminate in the Brain Bee, a quiz-bowl competition that tests all of the things students have learned. We also host a wide range of community outreach events like our annual Brain Fair, which showcases the research being conducted by over 30 labs on Brown’s campus to members of the Providence community.

Canadian Students at Brown (CS@B) builds community among Canadian students and students interested in Canadian culture at Brown through social events and support. CARE curates a culture of critical discourse through hosting a series of open discussion forums across the academic year. The CareFree Clinic of Brown University is committed to providing basic healthcare and health education to the underserved communities of Rhode Island. This is accomplished through partnering with Clinica Esperanza, where our members act as volunteers. At these shifts, we help patients become familiar with general markers of health, using blood glucose tests, blood pressure measurements, and BMI calculations. Because many of the communities we serve have been systematically marginalized and are often low-income, CareFree Clinic is dedicated to understanding the interaction of these factors and their limitations on patient health. In addition to working at the clinic, we help the Clínica community through fundraisers, art installations, awareness campaigns, and more.

Challah for Hunger meets monthly to bake challah and other baked goods, often from the Jewish tradition. Club members then sell these baked goods to the Brown community. Proceeds are donated to Mazon, a national charity that advocates against food insecurity, and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

The Brown University Chamber Orchestra (BUCO) aims to create an accessible, welcoming musical space where anyone, irrespective of musical experience or personal background, can come and play as a part of a musical ensemble in varying instrumental configurations. No auditions required!

Brown China Summit is an annual China conference held at Brown University over two days in March. Christian Union is a Christian leadership development group that meets bi-weekly for worship, meals, and their leadership lecture series. The ministry offers students discipleship, fellowship, pastoral leadership, prayer, trainings and retreats. CU holds a weekly prayer meeting at their ministry center which includes pancakes! Bible studies are held weekly at the ministry center. All students are welcome!

The Church of Darkness is an inter-faith group committed to spreading, peace, joy, happiness, fun, and darkness on Brown's campus. We primarily host moon heralding events where we worship the Spider God Atlach Nacha, disco nights, eclipse parties, and chanting walks. We also enjoy turning off the lights in rooms we enter as part of our ritual.

Circle of Women seeks to extend access to secondary education for girls in areas where there is an enrollment drop post-primary school, primarily through fundraising for infrastructure projects. CoW partners with local communities to meet their needs and support projects they initiate.

We seek to bring movement and confidence into children's lives through our culturally responsive dance education. Our team will travel together to a Providence public elementary school to teach fourth or fifth graders a weekly arts curriculum we develop based on CityStep’s pedagogy–exercises and games that are fun, engaging, expressive and collaborative. We’ll aim to strengthen each child’s sense of self and deepen their connection to one another as they develop artistic skills. Our goal is to encourage kids to step outside of their comfort zone, the full expression of which will be the end-of-year event where they perform an original work, alongside their teachers, for family, friends, the people of Providence and the Brown community. All CityStep constituents are invited to attend the annual CityStep All-Company Training Retreat each year in New York City. Anyone can participate in CityStep Brown regardless of prior dance experience.

The College Hill Independent is a Brown/RISD publication and workshopping space. We print alt-weekly issues, giving a great number of students the opportunity to write, edit, illustrate, design, copy edit, and get experience working in a fast-paced publishing setting. We distribute copies on and off campus, and maintain a website. We publish a wide variety of work, from humor to Providence-based reported news to long-form feature pieces on things you’ve never heard of or thought about.

The Colombian Student Association (COSA) is a space for sharing and connecting through the exploration and celebration of Colombian culture. Create@Brown is a craft/DIY club that is open to all students, where any crafter--beginner or experienced--can come to learn and create. We hold monthly workshops to explore different creative projects, such embroidery, mosaics, and beading. We also hold monthly “creative open hours, " where members can come and work on their own projects in a small community, as well as a semesterly Maker Market, where student vendors can sell their handmade goods to the campus community.

Founded in 1976, the Critical Review is a Brown University student-led organization that publishes course reviews based on surveys distributed to all students in every undergraduate class. At the end of the semester, professors administer surveys developed in conjunction with Brown University Faculty. The questionnaires comprise both open-ended and quantitative measures. During the semester, undergrads volunteer to synthesize the data into the reviews posted on the website.

The Crosswording Club holds weekly meetings for collaborative puzzle-making and puzzle-solving. They host tournaments at the end of each semester where teams of two face off against each other to solve crossword puzzles and win prizes and glory.

The Cuban Brunonians Association (CuBA) is focused on uniting all students through Cuban culture. Centered around understanding human experiences of suffering and mortality, our community gathers every week to read short passages in a group setting. The mission of the Brown Debating Union (BDU) is to develop and pursue excellence in public speaking and oration in the Brown community and to represent Brown University in intercollegiate parliamentary debate competitions. The BDU exists to support and sponsor its members to attend regular debate tournaments in the United States, Canada, and other nations. In addition, the BDU will host a yearly parliamentary debate tournament and internal tournament open only to students at Brown University.

Since 1982, The Brown Derbies have graced the time-honored walls of Brown University in Providence, RI. From Baton Rouge to Beijing, from San Francisco to Singapore, from Wayland Arch to the White House—the Derbies have established a renowned international, domestic, and on-campus presence since their founding.The oldest uninterrupted tenor-through-bass a cappella group on campus, the Derbies are known for their energetic performances, expert musicianship, and unique sound. They sing tunes ranging from ’80s hits to modern pop, entertaining a wide variety of audiences united by a common love for Beyonce. The Derbies have also just released their 16th studio album, Hats Off, which is available to stream on all platforms!

Instead of creating only buy/sell theses, the use of derivatives will empower its members to create and employ a multitude of theses on where a stock will go, including calls, puts, spreads, futures, and more. BDIG will hold weekly meetings consisting of mini stock pitches, educational sessions, and thorough stock pitches that will be voted upon by the group for potential purchase.

Design for America (DFA) seeks to tackle social problems through design thinking and with community partners! Guided by the human-centered design process, teams consisting of 4-6 people develop a project over the course of a school year. Final results range from pop-up exhibits, to organic pots, to zines.The RISD | Brown DFA studio has around 30 members annually from Brown University and RISD. Both Undergraduates and Graduates are welcome!

The Diabetes Link establishes a space for diabetics on campus through community bonding events, such as cooking nights, 5k run , or craft activities. They also conduct community outreach initiatives with local food pantries, soup kitchens, WaterFire Providence, and Providence Public Schools. This includes free blood glucose screening clinics, educational tabling, and high school education initiatives.

Doctors and Engineers Without Borders Club partners with local and international organizations to help in any way we can. This mostly includes fundraising, volunteering, and logistical planning. The club also seeks to use social media to educate Brown's campus about current humanitarian efforts.

Dominican Students at Brown is an organization that cultivates a strong sense of community on campus through events and fundraisers which celebrate all parts of Dominican culture, including music, food, and artistic expressions. Brown's Effective Altruism Club brings together all students interested in using evidence and reason to tackle the world’s most pressing problems. The club hosts speaker events, reading groups, and discussions focused on high-impact careers, global health, existential risks, and other core topics in effective altruism.

Ensemble Theatre @ Brown' produces two mainstage productions a year. The production in the fall is a no cuts show meaning anyone who auditions gets a role in the show. Environmental Health Club is dedicated to igniting the environmental health movement at Brown. By uniting Brown students with health care workers, public health experts, community leaders, and environmental advocates, Environmental Health Club will increase awareness about the most pressing environmental health issues in Providence and challenge students to engage with the environmental justice issues in their community.

The Brown Ethiopian Eritrean Student Association (BEESA) is a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating, uplifting, and uniting students of Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage at Brown University. Through cultural events, community-building activities, and educational programming, BEESA fosters a strong sense of belonging while promoting awareness of the diverse histories, traditions, and contemporary issues facing the Horn of Africa. Brown Esports provides a space for any Brown student who is interested in video games to interact with other students who are also have similar interests. This includes those who are interested in competing in tournaments as well as those who are playing casually with other students.

Every Vote Counts (EVC) @ Brown aims to promote democracy, voting rights, and civic engagement and to conduct this work on campus, in the Providence and Rhode Island communities, and nationally. They do this by directly encouraging voter turnout among Brown students, working with community organizations and representatives to promote voting rights legislation in RI, and researching civic engagement patterns among students and Providence residents. Eligibility to EVC is open to all full-time undergraduate members of the Brown community and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or caste. Majority membership consists of full-time undergraduate students.

Fashion@Brown is the largest fashion student-run organization that serves as the point of interaction with creatives and leaders in the world of fashion at large. F@B engages and unites fashion-oriented minds on campus through editorial and social media content, workshops, photo shoots, runway shows, and guest speakers. It enables students to express themselves through fashion’s various mediums, including apparel design, editorial, photography, videography, graphic design, and personal style. F@B is committed to welcoming all students and providing them the opportunity to express themselves in all of the rich diversity the fashion industry has to offer.

Fermata Composers Collective is a student music group that works to build connections across campus and initiate collaboration between composers and performers. The Board organizes concerts and events every semester to showcase student works in diverse styles and genres. Fiction for Kids creates, illustrates, translates, and donates personalized children’s books to kids in need. We bring joy through art and storytelling while promoting literacy, creativity, and inclusion. Open to all Brown students, we welcome writers, artists, translators, and volunteers dedicated to uplifting young readers in hospitals, shelters, schools, and beyond.

Filipino Alliance is open to all students and strives to foster a community that celebrates Filipino culture and heritage at Brown University. Through events and activities fostering friendship, we seek to build a home for all Brown students including those from the Philippines and the Filipino Diaspora. We also share Filipino culture with the Brown community through themed programming and collaborations with other clubs, working to facilitate experiences that are fun and welcoming to all.

Brown Film Magazine (BFM) is the university’s preeminent space for film and television enthusiasts to see their writing in print. Driven by a massive team of talented staff writers, editors, designers, and illustrators, BFM maintains a regular presence online where you can find film reviews, interviews with industry members, argumentative articles, analyses, comedy pieces, and more. Twice a year, BFM also assembles a seasonal print issue which pairs our favorite articles of the semester with breathtaking artwork and design spreads. Since its founding, BFM has become more than just a publication—we’ve become the go-to community for students on campus united by a love for the cinematic medium.

Founded in 2017 by a team of students and professors interested in finance, BFC is open to students of all academic backgrounds, irrespective of experience. Whether you are a student with a serious interest in finance or one with no experience at all but wish to learn more, BFC has resources and mentors to help you pursue your interests and launch your career in finance. Overall, BFC has weekly meetings for both general body members and select freshmen as part of our "Investment Banking Cohort", with the sole goal of enabling students to secure roles in "High Finance" career paths.

Fintech@Brown explores the intersection of finance and technology through educational events, projects, and networking opportunities. First Generation College Students at Brown serves the first-generation community, providing support, mentorship, and resources to those who identify. Eligibility to First Generation College Students at Brown is open to all full-time undergraduate members of the Brown community. First Generation Investors is a national non profit, originating from the UPenn and now spread across the country. FGI partners with local title 1 high schools to teach high school students from underserved backgrounds about investing. Topics include: personal finance, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETF’s, college loans, and more! After 7 lessons, high schoolers present their knowledge and a plan to invest. After graduation, their students receive a $100 portfolio through national donation money.

The Brown Fishing Club is a community of fishing enthusiasts, from experts to beginners, coming together to learn more about fishing opportunities in our local Rhode Island waters. Through meetings, organized fishing trips, and a shared gear locker, the club provides opportunities for education, fishing experiences, and communal events.

The purpose of Food Lovers @ Brown is to get students engaged in food opportunities around Providence. This is done through cultural food exploration with a focus on trying new foods students are unfamiliar with. Food Lovers @ Brown also aims to partner with existing food clubs on campus to promote cook-offs, bake-offs, and other competition-based food events around campus. As FLAB learns to expand their pallets, we learn about the science behind food critiquing and preparation.

The purpose of Brown Food Not Bombs shall be to support the Providence chapter of Food Not Bombs, an international mutual aid organization dedicated to fighting hunger and food waste. The Providence chapter feeds people in Kennedy Plaza every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and we want to provide students a way to get involved in this effort and get to know community members, as well as help develop and grow the Providence chapter of Food Not Bombs.

Food Recovery Network at Brown redirects surplus dining hall food to community members in need. Volunteers collect donations from the Blue Room, ERC, and Market Shares, storing them temporarily in the Ratty loading dock refrigerator before delivering these valuable resources to local community partners. Open to all Brown students, FRN offers meaningful opportunities to reduce food waste while addressing food insecurity in our community.

The Brown Forecasting Club provides a space where students can hone their skills in prediction of future events. Members predict events from the election results, daily weather, pop culture events, etc. by looking at historical data, considering outside forces, and contextualizing it all using statistical models. Members develop critical analysis skills that are intellectually engaging and essential for careers at hedge funds, quant trading firms, think tanks, and many other industries.

The Brown Foreign Policy Initiative is a student-run, non-partisan organization connecting students interested in global affairs and policy-making. Through student-led think tank research, pro-bono advisory projects, and engagements with embassies, think tanks, and international institutions, the Initiative aims to develop the next generation of leaders who shape international policy and foster global cooperation. The Initiative is open to all students, regardless of background or identity.

The French Theory Reading Group (FTRG) is a graduate student group that focuses on reading theoretical texts of French or Francophone origin (or texts which are inspired by such theoretical traditions). Each year our meetings are organized around a theme or question. This year's theme is 'reading.' The goal of the group is two-fold. 1. To better understand theoretical approaches that have influenced a variety of humanities disciplines. 2. To reflect on how these approaches influence and/or inform our own research. The group is open to all graduate students with all levels of comfort and/or experience reading theoretical texts. Full Stack at Brown (FSAB) is the university's foremost student organization focused on web development. In 1983, Paula Franklin, a black woman at Brown, felt the need for more student choreography on campus. That year, she choreographed a piece for the annual Fall Dance Concert, called “Portrait of a Studio.” This piece was the precursor to Fusion Dance Company. In the Spring semester of the same academic year, auditions were held to form a diverse company of 23 students. Over the past 42 years, Fusion has strived to uphold this tradition of a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic group of dancers who perform a variety of styles and do not conform to modern-day constraints on body shape, size, dance style, or choreography.

The Brown RISD Game Developers organization (BRGD) is a videogame development studio composed of students from the Brown/RISD community. Each semester, they design and build multiple videogame projects from the ground up. They collaborate in teams of people with skills in programming, art, sound, production, and game design, and they welcome new members with no prior experience who are eager to learn about any one of these skillsets. Gendo Taiko engages with the broader Brown University and Providence community through Fall and Spring open workshops and performances at WaterFire, RISD, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and other local colleges. On campus, Gendo Taiko has collaborated with numerous student groups and organizations like the BCSC, BAI, Visions Magazine, and CSA. Furthermore, Gendo Taiko has travelled to perform across the East Coast, including Tufts University; Columbia University; Burlington, Vermont; and Washington D.C. Upholding their annual tradition, Gendo Taiko hosts an annual Spring Show in April, which attracts around 1000 audience members over 2 days.

The Brown University German Club (further referred to as The German Club) shall enrich and educate the Brown Community about the distinctive German Culture and society. The German Club shall provide a forum for university students to speak the German language with one another. The German Club shall organize cultural events and activities that serve to broaden and deepen knowledge of the German culture. The Ghanaian Students Union is a group of Ghanaian students whose aim is to cultivate a safe, communal space to celebrate Ghanaian cultures, heritages, histories, and diverse identities for all those who are interested. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit that builds and repairs houses for families in need of affordable housing. Brown’s Habitat for Humanity student chapter centers around construction-based volunteering — under the guidance of Habitat’s staff, students learn skills including carpentry, siding, and more. Students also work to fundraise for local Habitats. Open to any and all Brown U students. Together, we help build a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Hansori is the Brown/RISD traditional Korean drumming group. They perform a genre of Korean percussion music called Samulnori, a modernized version of Pungmul (folk/farmers’ music) that incorporates four instruments (buk, janggu, kkwenggari, & jing), and share performances with Brown & the broader Rhode Island community. Grounded in their core value of unity, Hansori aims to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive space and is open to undergraduate & graduate students of all backgrounds.

Our club creates opportunities for students to engage meaningfully with harm reduction and related public health initiatives, helping build a safer environment on campus and in the surrounding community. Through advocacy, partnerships, and student involvement, we hope to foster a culture of compassionate health practice, safety, and proactive health intervention.

This year, Harmonic Motion has worked hard to accomplish its mission goal, as well as branching out to establish ourselves as a more holistic a cappella performance group through attending domestic invitationals, recording an album, planning for tours, performing at club collaborations, and booking gigs to raise money for the tour. The Brown Journal of Healthcare Advancement promotes the work of innovative and underpublicized healthcare organizations in their semiannual publication. They interview and host speaker events with leaders in healthcare.

Brown University Healthcare Interpreters seek to increase access to interpretation services in Rhode Island. The Higher Keys is a mixed voice a cappella group, existing under the umbrella of the Intergalactic Community of A Cappella (IGCAC).The Higher Keys performs jazz-style vocal harmony and arrangements, with no instruments, in a variety of venues both on and off-campus. On-campus performances include arch sings, concerts, and university-sponsored events. The Keys also perform off-campus at venues including other colleges, Brown Alumni club events, private functions, and local schools.

Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere (HOPE) is a student-run organization that collaborates with the Swearer Center for Public Service. They aim to serve the community in Providence and Rhode Island and address the structural issues surrounding homelessness and poverty. HOPE partners with House of Hope CDC, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending the personal and social trauma of homelessness, as well as a broader network of local advocacy organizations and direct service providers.

The Hellenic Association of Brown University serves as a cultural organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting Greek heritage within the university community. It brings together students of Greek descent and those interested in Hellenic culture through social gatherings, educational events, and cultural programming. IgniteCS is a program that's mission is to introduce students throughout the Providence area to computer science and technology. This is done through various means of running or assisting currently existing coding clubs, robotics teams, and more.

IMPROVidence is Brown and RISD’s oldest improv comedy group. They perform both short and long form games and have several shows throughout the semester, as well as improv workshops throughout the academic year. Aside from their own shows, they collaborate with other Brown comedy groups and perform across other collegiate campuses.

This club works as a peer reviewer hub for the undergraduate neuroscience journal IMPULSE, critiquing submitted articles in conjunction with the central chapter. After reading new manuscripts, IMPULSE members meet every other week to discuss the paper and edit it for publication, and different club members lead reviews of the paper each meeting. In doing so, IMPULSE fosters greater appreciation and knowledge of neuroscience, scientific writing, presentation skills, and research as a whole.

Impulse Dance Company is a student-run organization at Brown University open to all students. Industry and Innovation in Biotechnology (I2B) is a student organization offering students in the Brown Community a bridge to the world of commercialization, industry, and innovation in the biotechnology sector. To that goal, we hope to expose students to careers in biotechnology including, but not limited to, corporate strategy, consulting (management and life sciences), and venture capital, and to help students prepare for careers in these spaces through guest speakers, workshops, and other events. Our mission revolves around transforming neglected clothing sourced from local second-hand stores through the process of various forms of printing, sewing, embroidery etc. In our monthly club meetings, we hold upcycling workshops often with hand made screenprinted designs!

The Intercollegiate Finance Journal (IFJ) is a semesterly, intercollegiate, fully student-­run publication that seeks to educate the undergraduate community about topics in economics, business, politics, and finance. They strive to blend knowledge and experience with a touch of fun to make business and finance more accessible for students across all disciplines.

1) The prefix “inter” highlights the mission of the group to span over different domains of knowledge, ranging from science, engineering, and design to art, literature, music, and philosophy, etc.; 2) By means of “inter”, we will try to achieve “infinity” under the central question “how to lead a better life”, given the finite amount of energy, time, and resources we have, by members sharing knowledge and viewpoints and discussing with one another.

This organization is a collective of 9 a cappella groups that perform a range of different musical genres. IGCAC serves as a liaison between groups and administration, and also serves to organize performance opportunities concerning all groups.

Brown Investment Group is the oldest and largest student investment fund on College Hill, managing a ~$500,000 Core Fund and ~$100,000 Long / Short Fund, courtesy of Point72. The club is composed of a selective Research Committee of fifty analysts and our General Body, open to all undergraduates and extremely flexible in size. BIG hopes to instill the principles of value investing and finance through weekly stock pitches, bespoke mentorship, and visits from best-in-class employers and speakers.

Iranian Graduate Students Association (IGSA) at Brown University is a non-partisan volunteer student organization which serves current and prospective Iranian students and it is committed to support and serve the interests of the Iranian community at Brown University.

The Brown Iranian Students Association (BISA) celebrates Iranian culture and heritage through community events, cultural programming, and educational initiatives. Held annually since 2001 in a week-long April event, Ivy Film Festival has grown to become the largest student-run film festival in the world. Festival week features advanced screenings of feature films, panels, keynotes, workshops, and masterclasses with some of the most highly regarded professionals in the industry, culminating with the Official Selection of short student films, screenplays, and virtual reality experiences. In 2016, Ivy Film Festival expanded its reach to partner with dozens of universities across the world through its Satellite Film Festival, bringing its world-renowned Official Selection to audiences throughout the globe.

The Ivy League+ Pre Health society is the largest pre health society on campus, hosting initiatives to enhance your journey to medical, veterinary, and dental school. Our society provides direct access to securing a patient volunteer position at Rhode Island Hospital, a research database to quickly find research experience, a mentoring program between under and upperclassmen, and more. We host the National Undergraduate Research Conference at Brown, with the first scheduled date for April 12th, 2025, and will be held annually. We welcome students from any background and year.

J Street U Brown hosts educational events to teach students and community members about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We also occasionally lobby for various pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian policies in the halls of Congress.

Founded 75 years ago, The Jabberwocks are the oldest a cappella group at Brown. With powerful musical performances regularly rehearsed and reimagined, the Jabberwocks are a co-ed a cappella group committed to pushing the envelope of a cappella excellence. The Wocks have had multiple tracks featured on the Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) albums and have recently been awarded 2nd place at the 2025 Northeast Quarterfinal of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.

The Japanese Culture Association (JCA) at Brown celebrates Japanese culture through traditional food events, educational career programs, and community activities such as our annual Haunted House. JBSA fosters a safe environment for students to convene, learn, and build relationships. JBSA hosts events — including speakers, workshops, and social events — to enhance students’ experience in the club. JBSA’s mentorship program connects members to students and alumni, building invaluable long-term connections. Developing meaningful relationships is the core of JBSA’s mission, and JBSA welcomes students from all concentrations, backgrounds, and profiles.

Jockapella takes all athletes and gives them the chance to join an acapella group. We meet on Sunday's and give athletes a time to relax and join a club that accommodates their schedule. JPPE is an international academic publication that highlights undergraduate and graduate student scholarship in the disciplines of philosophy, politics and economics.The Journal of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (JPPE) looks for pieces that are well-written, original, well-argued, well-researched, and timely. Possible contributions include but are not limited to, research papers, literature reviews, critical comments, interviews, theses, PhD summaries, and articles written independently or for a class. We evaluate every submission entirely on merit.

The Brown Journal of World Affairs is a biannual, student-run publication that explores pressing international issues through a multidisciplinary lens. The Journal brings together scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to contribute original essays on global politics, economics, diplomacy, and culture. Each issue features thematic sections on emerging global challenges alongside interviews and commentary from leading voices in international affairs.

KDSAP@Brown, a chapter of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program National Program, partners with physicians to organize kidney disease screenings and educational events for the Providence community. This student-led group also hosts speaker events, training sessions for Brown students, and career seminars.

Kink@Brown provides a safe space open for all students to learn about kink and BDSM. The club will also emphasize the importance of consent and safe sex while dispelling misbeliefs about BDSM. The club will offer educational events and social Munch events, which are meetings that do not specifically pertain to kink or education, with the purpose of fostering community and being welcoming to individuals who may otherwise be too nervous to engage in educational workshops.

The Korean Adoptee Mentoring Program (KAMP) connects adopted Korean children and teens in the New England area with mentors—primarily Brown University students—who have cultural and/or linguistic ties to Korea. Through these relationships, mentees are introduced to Korean culture, language, and heritage in supportive, engaging social settings. We host events that celebrate Korean culture through food, activities, and presentations that inform families as well as create an engaging environment for the families to connect with others.

The Brown Korean American Student Association (KASA) aims to build community surrounding Korean culture on Brown's campus. We celebrate Korean history, cuisine, music and more through culturally enriching events and we would like to welcome people of all backgrounds and identities to come join us!

The Brown Graduate Student Council regularly organizes activities for the exchange and development of Korean graduate students, professors, and the local community. Events hosted by the Student Council include the fall freshman orientation, spring graduate farewell party, and Chuseok holiday events, and through these events, we aim to provide opportunities and channels for active exchanges between international students and researchers. In addition, we will do our best to actively promote personal and academic exchanges among Korean students working in various fields through thematic small groups, etc. We ask for your continued encouragement and participation so that we can develop into a place for various information and opportunities that promote Korean culture within Brown University and benefit the Korean community.

Liber Brunensis is Brown University’s official yearbook, created by a student-run organization that captures and commemorates the student experience each year. Lifting Limits is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bridging generational divides and fostering connections that enrich communities and empower individuals. Its mission is to combat senior isolation while providing younger generations opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Through innovative programs and partnerships with schools, universities, and local organizations, Lifting Limits creates spaces that promote mutual understanding, respect, and inspire lifelong service and connection.

Brown Lion Dance is a student group dedicated to practicing and honoring the ancient art of lion dance. Performances are meant to bring good fortune, drive away evil, and manifest prosperity and happiness. Brown Lion Dance typically performs for on-campus cultural events, as well as community events in the greater New England area.

The purpose of the Madrigals shall be to learn and perform classical, choral, traditional, and contemporary a cappella music for the benefit of the members of the Mads, the Brown community, the Providence community, and the New England community as a whole. Each semester, the Mads welcome all students to audition to become part of the Madrifam!

The Brown Magic the Gathering Club hosts biweekly meetings to play Magic the Gathering, the most popular trading card game in the world. Meetings are open to participants of any skill level, and the club hosts new player events monthly. Meetings typically include gameplay in a variety of formats, such as commander, draft, cube, canadian highlander, and more! Other events include deck building challenges, trivia, and more.

The Brown University Mahjong Club promotes the game of mahjong on campus by teaching new players and facilitating regular gameplay sessions including two annual tournaments. Open to all full-time Brown and RISD undergraduate and graduate students, the club fosters an inclusive environment and encourages community building through shared enjoyment of the game.

Mariachi Ositos de Brown is a traditional Mexican ensemble consisting of student trumpeters, violinists, guitarists, vihuelist, and bassists (guitarrón). As Providence's only Mariachi band, they are dedicated to celebrating Mexican culture and visibility both on and off campus. They perform for a wide variety of events, including private serenatas, weddings, concerts, funerals, parties, and more. Their musical repertoire includes rancheras, sones, huapangos, boleros, and other genres of Mexican music.

The purpose of the Brown Market Shares Program is to connect the Brown community with regional producers through affordable weekly shares of fresh, local, and sustainable produce, dairy, eggs, bread, & meat. We run weekly market days where we distribute this produce to shareholders.

Brown Marketing Club helps students explore and pursue a career in marketing through speaker panels, networking opportunities, professional help, and hands-on experience with real-world marketing projects. Members will drive engagement for multiple types of businesses and learn about topics such as market research, consumer demographics, market trends, branding, content creation, and presentation.

Math Circle is a chance to engage with local high school students through weekly math games and activities, introducing them to the cool math behind them. The group usually does recreational math topics including hexaflexagons, the fold-and-cut theorem, and Nim.

The purpose of Medicine Meets Art is to create a community of undergraduate students who are passionate about both art and medicine. We will explore how these fields intersect and enhance each other through art nights and creative workshops, graphic medicine book clubs, guest speaker events and presentations, and many more activities.

The Brown Meditation Community is a non-denominational group of students who support each other's meditation practices and cultivate community through facilitated meditation sits, on-campus and extended off-campus meditation retreats, collaborations, guest lectures, and social gatherings. We meet weekly on Thursday evenings in the Manning Chapel. Additionally, we host daily meditation sits at 8:00 am from Monday through Friday in the Manning Chapel. All practitioners and members of the Brown community are welcome!

The Brown University Merlions (BUM) is a group that welcomes all members of the Brown community, as well as students from neighbouring schools such as RISD and aims to celebrate Singapore’s culture and foster a community of those interested in Singaporean culture at Brown. BUM will host regular events every semester that are culturally important to Singaporeans that allow all students, including those based in Singapore to stay in touch with each other, and also for anyone who is interested in Singapore to learn more about Singaporean culture.

Brown English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is a student-led group connected to the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University. ESOL is partnered with the Community Libraries of Providence (CLPVD) and together we work to address the marginalizing effects of language barriers by providing English language and literacy classes to adult immigrants in the Providence community. Our members teach and facilitate English classes at the Boys and Girls Club in the Fox Point neighborhood of Providence.

Mezcla serves as a space for students to celebrate Latin culture through dance. They are passionate about showcasing the beauty and diversity of Latin dance styles and fostering a supportive community of artists on campus. Mezcla strives to cultivate an environment where students can proudly embrace their heritage and express themselves creatively on stage. Through workshops and their annual shows, Mezcla promotes cultural awareness and appreciation across the Brown University community.

B-MIC aims to promote the growing interest of AI on campus and empower students of all skill levels with hands-on experience in implementing machine learning technologies through student-led workshops.Furthermore, it will enable students in the following situations to start gaining experience in machine intelligence:Students who don’t concentrate in computer science but have python or other beginner level programming experience (example: achieved beginner proficiency through one or more intro courses like CSCI 0111 AND/OR achieved proficiency by themselves).CS concentrators who don’t have the necessary math and/or CS pre-requisites to take Deep Learning or Machine Learning.CS concentrators who aren’t on the Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning pathway, but still want machine intelligence experience.The club hosts 2-3 workshops each semester where undergraduates can complete machine intelligence projects in groups of similar programming levels or individually.

The BMVP actively works to encourage more Brown University students to dedicate their available time and efforts in supporting the Miriam Hospital staff and community.

MASH hosts discussions, workshops, speaker panels, community dinners, and social events. MASH Club collaborates with other cultural groups at Brown, such as the Brown Organization for Multiracial and Biracial Students (BOMBS) and the Multiracial Heritage Series (MRHS). We aim to encourage crossover and engagement between the multiracial and API communities through events and discussions open to all students. Open General Body meetings are held biweekly in the Brown Center for Students of Color.

Brown Mock Trial is a collegiate mock trial team that competes on the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) circuit. They travel to tournaments across the country, competing as trial attorneys and witnesses in a fictitious civil or criminal case. In addition to fielding travel teams to participate in the AMTA circuit, they also endeavor to teach members of their general body about the practice of law by reviewing the federal rules of evidence and training them on trial advocacy techniques.

Brown Model United Nations seeks to promote discussion regarding diplomacy, global affairs, and international relations on-campus and off-campus and provide a space for undergraduates and others to engage with these subjects and participate in discussion about current events on the global political stage. To achieve this aim, BMUN is composed of two branches: its high school conference and the Travel Team, and is overseen by the General Body.

Molì Dance Co. is a dance group specializing in traditional East Asian dance forms, including (but not limited to) classical and folk Han, Dai, and Mongolian. Molì's founding philosophy is to dance these cherished styles with the people who also love them, regardless of dance background. The company's no-audition policy means that anyone is welcome to join and perform with us, so long as they are willing to put in the commitment!

Brown Moot Court is a collegiate Moot Court team associated with the American Moot Court Association (AMCA) circuit. They compete, teach constitutional law, and compete in pairs of two on fictitious appellate cases. Their purpose is to provide all Brown students with the opportunity to learn about constitutional law, appellate argumentation, and oral advocacy.

Founded in 1987 by Doug Liman (director of The Bourne Identity), Dave Bartis (producer of The O.C.), and Steve Klinenberg, we are the Ivy League's largest student-run film production company. With over 120 active members, we produce four short films on a semesterly basis. As BMP is primarily a place to learn, students do not need any prior experience to be involved.

MECHA de Brown is a student organization that seeks to celebrate, promote, and advocate for ALL Mexican students on campus through cultural events, workshops, and social activism both on and off campus. MECHA de Brown is a space for all students, regardless of their connection to Mexican culture, to come together and celebrate the vast diversity of México and its people.

The Brown University Music Co-op is a student-run organization committed to supporting the campus music scene by maintaining accessible rehearsal spaces—specifically the Red and White Rooms in T.F. Green Hall—for student musicians, bands, and songwriters. In addition to overseeing these vital creative spaces, the Co-op actively fosters musical collaboration and community through organizing on-campus events, jam sessions, and showcases that bring together diverse voices across Brown’s music community.

BMR is a digital music publication, providing a multimedia forum for students to review and discuss music of all genres.

Musical Forum (MF) is a student theatre company dedicated to producing high-quality, student-produced musical theatre at Brown. Since its founding in 1987, it has staged over 50 full-length musicals and produced both Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners. Each semester, it stages a full-length, licensed musical, as well as a concert musical in the fall and their annual, student-written Mini-Musical Festival (MFMMF) in the spring.

The MSA hosts social, religious, and interfaith events to promote community and connection amongst all Brown students on campus, including to Muslim students at Brown.

National Alzheimer’s Buddies Brown University Chapter connects Brown Students with Alzheimer’s patients in the Providence area. They take weekly trips to an assisted living facility to do activities with their buddies spanning from crafts to karaoke

National Society of Black Engineers is open to all students and is a community of engineers, computer scientists, and STEM-minded people who work together to excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

The Natives at Brown (NAB) student organization welcomes Brown and RISD students of all backgrounds including Indigenous backgrounds. Serving 50+ community members, NAB stands as a crucial space for all students who are committed to exploring issues impacting Indigenous-identifying students on campus. Our community engagement includes annual events such as the Frybread Social, Spring Native Formal, cultural workshops, journaling and movie nights, and weekly General Body Meetings.

The Brown Neuromuscular Alliance is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of neuromuscular diseases. Partnering with organizations like the MDA, we host talks with clinicians and researchers, organize volunteer and advocacy initiatives, and create opportunities for students to explore neuroscience, medicine, and patient-centered care while building a supportive academic community.

Brown’s Nigerian Student Association (NSA) is an organization that is open to all students. This year, the NSA put on the first-ever Edition of our ANNUAL OWAMBE Celebration. A celebration of life, an Owambe, in Nigerian culture, usually marks a milestone – a baby naming, wedding, 50th birthday, or even a funeral.

NMDP Chapter of Brown University is the official chapter of NMDP, a global nonprofit leader in cell therapy. Formerly known as Be the Match or the National Marrow Donor Program, our mission is to save lives and create a world where every patient can receive life-saving cell therapy. Chapter members recruit committed members to the NMDP Registry of potential donors, raise funds for patients and families, and host campus-wide and student-body wide education and awareness events.

No Empty Seats hosts joyous and wholesome events on campus to show support for suicide prevention and create a more inclusive space regarding mental health.

The purpose of Brown Nordic Society shall be to foster strong bonds between current Nordic students, provide a space for all students to learn more about Nordic customs, and provide a forum to connect with Brown alums with Nordic connections.

The purpose of The Brown Noser shall be to provide Brown University with a satirical take on university news and external events, contributing to the campus community through humor and commentary. Additionally, it aims to develop leadership skills among its members and foster a learning environment for satire writing and editing.

OJA! Modern African Dance is a student-led team that celebrates the vibrancy of African culture through high-energy performances rooted in modern Afrobeat and other contemporary styles from the African diaspora. Open to all Brown students, OJA! fosters creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression through dance.

Open Style Sessions (OSS) creates space for the sacredness of a cypher to flourish. By sharing our collective expertise and learning from professional artists, we introduce students and neighbors to a wide range of dance styles rooted in Queer-BIPOC identities. Dance styles may include (but are not limited to): House, Breaking, Vogue, Krump, Waacking, Chicago Footwork, Capoeira, Forró, Hula, Afro-Rican Bomba, Afro-Cuban, Roller Skating, ETC.

Brown Opera Workshop unites students interested in performing opera and classical music. It puts on opera performances each semester, including collections of scenes and productions. It also hosts smaller concerts, opera watch parties, and other opera-related events. It welcomes students, both vocalists and instrumentalists, who want to perform, stage, and direct opera scenes.

The purpose of the Brown Opinion Project is to measure public opinion within the Brown community on issues that are important to the community. We will publish findings publicly, ensuring equitable access for all members of the Brown community. We intend for our findings to inform and contribute to meaningful discourse on campus. We also seek to service clubs, student organizations, academic departments, etc. through the administration of polls on their behalf.

Brown Original Series is dedicated to producing episodic content by and for the Brown and RISD community. Each semester, our Writers' Room develops an original mini-series to be produced by the BOS Production Team.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) fosters a welcoming community for individuals who identify as Orthodox Christians or are interested in learning about the faith. We host weekly events featuring guest speakers, such as local priests and scholars, on topics including Orthodox theology, iconography, fasting, and prayer. Beyond meetings, we coordinate transportation to Orthodox churches near campus to facilitate participation in the Divine Liturgy and the Sacraments. We also organize service activities, encouraging members to deepen their faith through charity work and fellowship.

Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) at Brown is a chapter of the national non-profit professional society (oSTEM Incorporated) with more than 75 chapters across the United States. Our overarching mission is to empower LGBTQIA+ folks at Brown University studying or working in STEM fields to succeed personally, academically, and professionally. We aim to achieve this mission by building a community of LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, and alumni and by developing initiatives that foster innovation, leadership, and advocacy as it relates to gender and sexual identity both within individual departments and across the university. Along with the benefits of creating a space for LGBTQIA+ individuals in STEM to connect, our group works to provide professional development resources specifically tailored to navigating STEM careers as an out LGBTQIA+ individual. By leveraging connections with LGBTQIA+ alumni and other professionals, we host panels, discussions, and workshops where students can gain professional insight and guidance. In the long-term we aim to equip members of the group with the skills and confidence necessary to be visible in their respective fields of study both here at Brown, and beyond, and to continue to promote diversity and inclusion across a broad range of professions.

Out of Bounds is Brown’s only sketch comedy group. We meet weekly to write sketches, working toward performing and producing four hour-long shows per year. We like to create content that is wacky, wild, and out there, often taking subjects from pop culture and on-campus happenings and putting our own kooky spin on them. All of these pressing topics and more are explored by OOB in our shows, which we write, perform, and produce by ourselves.

We design and lead workshops for local high schools to educate students in environmental science, environmental justice, and leadership skills.

The Brown Outing Club (BOC) is a student-run club created with the primary goals of getting more students outside, helping them explore the outdoors in safe and meaningful ways, and creating lasting, inclusive communities around shared adventures such as hiking, backpacking, kayaking, skiing, and everything in between. BOC is committed to creating respectful and equitable opportunities for students of all identities, backgrounds, and experience levels, which includes our efforts to ensure the outdoors is a space for everyone. As a university club, the BOC is open and accessible to all students within the Brown community.

The Pakistani Students Association at Brown University (PSAB) is a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting Pakistani culture, heritage, and community. Through cultural events, discussions, and collaborations, PSA fosters a welcoming space for students of all backgrounds to engage with Pakistan’s rich traditions, history, and contemporary issues.

Health care is a human right. At PIH, this core belief drives everything we do—from hospital bedsides to the streets. Join us in our fight.PIH Engage is how we organize local communities toward building a global movement for the right to health. At a national level, we are a constituency of high school and college students and professionals across the U.S. that recruit, train, and equip dedicated teams of volunteer community organizers who mobilize their communities in the fight for health equity. At Brown, we conduct community building and education, fundraising, and advocacy campaigns on campus and across Rhode Island to support the fight for health as a human right. With each campaign, petition, and event, we generate new resources, foster public discourse, and advocate for policies that advance the right to health worldwide.

PAL, a student-run program at Brown University, connects student tutors with individuals with disabilities for weekly hour-long sessions. Since the late 1970s, PAL has aimed to foster mutual growth through personal relationships and continuing education. Learners select topics, fostering a learner-centered approach, while promoting inclusivity and community on campus.

Perfect Pair is a national nonprofit that fosters one-on-one, intergenerational connections between older adults and college students to reinforce a sense of community to improve senior health and well-being. They achieve this by ensuring pairs are personalized, based on shared backgrounds and interests. They encourage seniors to re-engage with their passions by offering individualized and accessible programming. The program aims to enhance the quality of life of both older adults and students.

Period Equity at Brown works to increase awareness and understanding of period equity and menstrual justice within the Brown community and Providence. The club dives deeply into the three pillars of its mission: Education, Advocacy, and Service. They host educational seminars, advocate for increased access to menstrual products at Brown, and develop menstrual education curriculum for Providence Public Schools.

The Personal Finance Initiative (PFI) is dedicated to empowering middle school, high school, and college students with essential financial literacy skills. As part of PFI, Brown students will volunteer to teach grade-schoolers about personal finance through workshops about budgeting, responsible spending, and planning for long-term stability. We will also host finance-related educational and social events for Brown students as they tackle financial independence. We will cover topics like retirement accounts, mortgages, investing, etc.

Brown Pescatarian Club hopes to increase awareness about pescatarian diets and to explore pescatarian ingredients and dishes. For people who aren’t fully committed to becoming vegetarian, adopting a pescatarian diet could be a great option to still gain lots of protein and other nutritional benefits from seafood.

The Petey Greene Program supplements education for system-impacted individuals by preparing volunteers to provide free, quality tutoring and related programming to support the academic achievement of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people. We work to promote academic achievement in diverse classrooms in order to support students and build stronger communities. Brown students travel to educational programs and help tutor students within them. We strive to prioritize the individual needs of students; build strong relationships between academic institutions and communities; train volunteers in the skills necessary to tutor a variety of subjects; improve student achievement in high school equivalency, adult basic education, workforce development, post-secondary education, and other academic programs; encourage a positive academic environment grounded in professional and respectful interactions; and increase awareness of the positive impact of education in correctional facilities.

Planned Parenthood Advocates (PPA) is an organization that coordinates campus engagement around reproductive rights, justice and advocacy. Intersectionality is at the core of our work and we aim to foster an environment that is understanding of all of the different ways reproductive justice affects our lives and communities. We schedule regular in-person meetings twice a month with activities ranging from phone-banking or letter-writing to building safer sex kits for the Providence community. There are also opportunities to be more involved outside of scheduled meetings through our 'working groups' that take on specific projects throughout the year.

PLME Undergraduate Senate is the official representative body of PLME Undergraduate Students and is run exclusively by fellow PLME students. We are responsible for connecting PLMEs across class years and enriching their medical education through PLME student activities. We organize class bonding activities, networking events, community service opportunities, and mentoring programs.

Poets Anonymous is a weekly poetry reading in which everyone submits original work, without a byline, to be mixed up and read aloud anonymously.

Poise&Ivy is a lifestyle and fashion magazine that celebrates creativity, culture, and individuality. The group produces high-quality digital content, including trend features, photoshoots, and in-depth articles, while fostering a vibrant community of writers, designers, and creators. Poise&Ivy provides a platform for students to explore the intersection of style, identity, and storytelling at Brown.

The Brown Poker Club fosters a community of poker enthusiasts at Brown University, providing opportunities for members to develop their poker skills regardless of experience level. Welcoming to complete beginners and experienced players alike, the club organizes regular tournaments, strategy sessions, and maintains a competitive team that represents Brown in collegiate competitions. The Poler Bears, Brown's only dance team dedicated to pole-dancing, organizes regular shows and danceworkshops for the community. No experience is required to join and all movement/ fitness backgrounds are welcome. The team practices regularly at local studios and has a showcase at the end of each semester, in addition to pop-up performances and collaborations with other student groups.

The Polish-American Club welcomes all students and fosters connections through a shared interest in Polish culture. Through academic, cultural, and social events, the club promotes meaningful engagement with topics related to Poland and the surrounding region.

Brown Political Review (“BPR”) is Brown University’s entirely student-written and student-run, nonpartisan magazine for political journalism. BPR publishes a print magazine four times a year and updates this website daily with new articles, interviews, and multimedia content. The organization is home to a staff of 200+ students working in all aspects of magazine and online content production.

The Brown Political Union is a multi-partisan forum for discourse and intellectual engagement at Brown. We host non-competitive debates, speaker events, dialogues with other groups, visits to other political unions, and career development opportunities. The Union has multiple autonomous political parties within our organization that encourage the expression and discussion of different political ideologies. In sum, the BPU provides a space for meaningful engagement, dialogue, and discussion.

The Brown Pool Sharks is a campus organization that specializes in billiards (pool), offering students a space to develop their skills and engage in friendly competition. Whether beginner or experienced player, Pool Sharks provides opportunities to practice, participate in tournaments, and meet new people at social events.

Brown Pre-Dental Society aims to promote awareness of the field of dentistry and support students in their journey in preparing for a career in dentistry, whether it be through advice via professional and alumnae panels, volunteer opportunities, or dialogue with fellow students. They also support dental education in the Providence area, spreading awareness in schools about proper dental hygiene.

Brown Pre-Law Society is a group of students from diverse backgrounds considering law school after graduation. Through our events, we facilitate student discussion of the law and investigate the full implications of attending law school, as well as the many possibilities thereafter. We host guest speakers for lectures, forums on various forms and practices of law, law school admissions panels and discussions, law school tours, LSAT workshops, and various other activities.

The Brown Private Equity Club is committed to assisting its members with attaining career and educational opportunities in private equity. We provide an outlet for Brown undergraduates with an interest in private equity to connect with one another, as well as build valuable relationships with industry professionals.

Brown Product aims to equip students with essential skills and insights for thriving in product roles across diverse industries. By fostering a collaborative environment, we provide hands-on experiences, industry insights, and networking opportunities. Members can develop their expertise in areas like product management, design strategy, user experience, and data analysis, preparing them for successful careers in this nascent yet fast-evolving field.

Production Workshop (PW) is Brown University’s oldest student theater group, established in 1960. PW is the only student theater group to oversee its own physical spaces, two black box theaters (known as the Downspace and the Upspace) in T.F. Green Hall at 7 Young Orchard Ave. There, PW produces and hosts plays, festivals, experimental works, and more throughout the academic year!

Project Sunshine provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children and families facing medical challenges. Through partnership with local Hasbro Children's and Bradley Hospital, our volunteers relieve the anxiety of young patients and, through fun and play, foster in them the courage and coping skills necessary to confront procedures that lie ahead. Project Sunshine volunteers spread sunshine, restoring a crucial sense of normalcy to the pediatric healthcare environment.

Brown-Providence Original Photography (B-POP) is a student-led organisation dedicated to providing photography-based services to Brown and the Providence community. We collaborate with youth interested in photography and volunteer for shoots for local organisations e.g. Adoption RI. We also give our members the opportunity to be hired by campus organisations. B-POP holds many events throughout the year, including photowalks, workshops, editing sessions, and movie screenings.

Providence Youth Advocacy (PYA) is a group of Brown students who visit the Crossroads Family Shelter twice a week. PYA organizes activities (arts and crafts, card games, holiday card writing, sports, etc.) and provides homework help to the children living at the shelter each week.

Brown Public Speaking Initiative (or BPSI) helps students improve their public speaking skills and hosts lectures and workshops with prominent public speakers. Our workshops foster skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Brown Puzzle Club is a group centered on writing and solving puzzles! The club meets once a week to solve logic and abstract-reasoning puzzles together and form teams to compete in various hunts throughout the year, including MIT Mystery Hunt. Additionally, BPC writes and hosts the annual Brown Puzzlehunt, a weekend-long event where teams compete to solve puzzles created by Brown and RISD students.

Quantitative Trading at Brown (QTAB) holds weekly general body meetings and events that expose its members to concepts in probability, stats, and computer science, with a focus on applications. This includes industry interview prep, trading games, and research projects.The club has industry relations with numerous quant and data science firms. We emphasize that we focus on math and computer science foundations and start from the basics. No finance experience is required.

Quantum Computing at Brown hosts general meetings, workshops, and guest speaker events related to quantum computing to teach undergraduate students about quantum computing and to build a quantum computing community at Brown.

QA is a student-driven, and student-centric, organization that is open to all Brown students to meet one another, build community, and access resources and spaces in an informal and friendly environment. Our socials and events are unique as there is no equivalent student organization on campus specifically committed to large-scale events that celebrate queer identity for the student body. The party scene has long been a space for queer community-building, encounters, and celebration throughout history. Most other student affinity groups have a tradition of yearly socials. QA has been working to re-establish this within those interested in the queer community, which has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response. The organization and its events are open to all students. Without QA, spaces that support queer interests would once again be pushed to the margins of our campus culture.

Brown QSN Chapter aims to build community amongst first-generation, low-income scholars on campus through monthly events, workshops, outreach, and other initiatives. We strive to provide a safe space for students of all backgrounds as they embark on their college journeys; we are committed to fostering family through supporting our scholars socially, academically, and professionally. Our organization primarily targets QB scholars, but we welcome all students who wish to join our UFLi community.

Brown University's nationally recognized quizbowl team aims to provide academic competition in a friendly, inclusive, and challenging environment. Members attend regional tournaments throughout the school year and often participate in several nationals-level tournaments. Brown Quizbowl is committed to fostering an inclusive, anti-discriminatory environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of any identities they may hold.

The Brown University Radio Club (BRC) is a student organization dedicated to exploring amateur radio and radio technology. The club provides a community for students interested in learning about radio communication, emergency preparedness, and technical experimentation. Through hands-on activities such as licensing preparation, outdoor radio activations, and collaborative projects with other campus groups, BRC fosters innovation and engagement with the global amateur radio community.

Reproductive Justice @ Brown is a student-led organization open to all students, dedicated to advancing equitable access to reproductive care through education, advocacy, and arts-based outreach. Grounded in doula training and community partnership, RJ@Brown empowers students to engage with reproductive justice both on campus and in the broader Providence area.

The Republican Club of Brown University provides a space for students to explore conservative policy and politics. The group fosters open dialogue, promotes intellectual diversity, and hosts events that encourage engagement with alternative viewpoints on campus.

The Brown Research Club (BRC) introduces and connects undergraduates to research opportunities through presentations, events, an internship database, and more. We continuously develop new projects to help undergraduates navigate their research path, fostering a robust platform for learning and discovery. Membership is open to all undergraduates as we build a community of engaged scholars.

Resource Generation @ Brown shares the purpose of educating and organizing Brown students across class backgrounds to ensure the equitable (re-)distribution of land, money, and power within their current and future communities. Through political education workshops like Praxis, RG pushes students to critically consider their relationship with class, wealth, and privilege, with a special focus on making material steps towards a more equitable society.

The Resumed Undergraduate Student Association (RUSA) builds community for nontraditional students by hosting many events throughout the school year and aims to advocate for its members by working with campus resources. RUSA also maintains a studying space in the Campus Center.

The Rib of Brown is a humor publication that features student-written articles on its online blog and hosts stand-up comedy shows each semester. The Rib is dedicated to breaking down gendered barriers in comedy.

Brown Robotics aims to create an inclusive environment where undergraduate students of all backgrounds can explore robotics. Our goals are to promote interdisciplinary projects, foster creativity, and develop technical skills. We tailor our projects and compete in competitions which match the interests of our members, ensuring an engaging and dynamic experience for all.

Brown Rocketry is an organization that develops the knowledge of rocketry as both a hobby and a career in the Brown community. Brown Rocketry regularly undergoes the construction of rockets whether they are made from kits, so beginners can gain an understanding of various rocket components or if the rockets are designed from scratch for an additional challenge for experienced rocket enthusiasts. Brown Rocketry mainly constructs rockets that fall under the High Power Rocket Level 1 category.

The Round is a journal of literary and visual arts based at Brown University in Providence, RI.Published biannually, The Round accepts submissions in all mediums and from all sources, inside and outside the Brown community.Our name is adopted from the musical “round,” a composition in whichmultiple voices form an overlapping conversation. It is our mission to extend and enrich the dialogue surrounding literary and visual arts at Brown by creating a community of artists across the country and around the globe. We are excited to work on a magazine which brings together contributors with a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, and places they call home.

Rural Students @ Brown seeks to build a community of students with a shared rural experience or interest in rural issues. The purpose of the club is to raise awareness of challenges rural students face in college admissions and college life. The club aims to support and advocate for rural students by hosting community events including a bonfire, ice skating, RIPTA trips, as well as by cultivating conversations through our Rurality in the Ivy Conference. RS@B also collaborates with the Office of Admissions on fly-in programs for rural high school students and guidance counselors, and with the Office of New Student Programs on events that introduce students to public transportation around campus.

Russian Speakers@Brown seeks to create a welcoming multicultural environment for Russian-speaking students and staff at Brown and those inspired by Russian culture. This includes celebrations, conversations, and food events for all regardless of language proficiency. While we wish to nurture a community in isolation from the Russian political environment, we are committed to approaching Russian culture critically so as not to detach it from the inseparable broader themes such as imperialism.

The Brown Salsa Club offers salsa and bachata dance instruction and fosters a vibrant Latin dance community through weekly lessons and socials. Open to all Brown students regardless of background or experience—as well as RISD students and some community members, the club welcomes anyone interested in learning, connecting, and having safe fun through dance.

As a Christian ministry, Salt and Light ultimately seeks to provide a home for students looking to learn about, pursue, or grow their Christian faith in a campus context and through the lens of the Reformed theological tradition. We are officially affiliated with Reformed University Fellowship and have an ordained minister on staff.

This is the Black Graduate Student Association at Brown. We foster a community for students who identify as descending from the African Diaspora (as well as allies). We host a variety of advocacy, education, and social events.

Satsanga is Brown's Hindu Students' Association, a warm community of students who host monthly Hindu pujas (prayers) and regular discussion groups on Hindu texts to showcase Hindu culture to the larger Brown community. Everyone is welcome to take part in a culturally-enriching experience to learn more about Hinduism.

Brown Science Olympiad is a student organization that hosts two annual invitational tournaments for middle and high school students. The group also mentors local high schoolers to promote engagement in STEM. The organization is open to all Brown students regardless of background or identity.

As a group of Brown University undergraduates pursuing degrees in STEM, we are passionate about teaching science to high school students with a hands-on approach, emphasizing ideas that aren't commonly covered in the classroom. Our mission is to make the science not only more approachable and understandable, but also more fun! Our events are open to all high school students, regardless of background.We emphasize a diversity of modern applications of Biology, Neuroscience, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, and Mathematics with interactive and group activities to show students the remarkable possibilities of science in the modern age. For example, we've done lessons such as Science Behind Baking and Forensic Analysis. In doing so, we hope to inspire passions for science in our students and help them, through college mentoring and advising, pursue education in the sciences beyond the high school level.

Scientists for a Sustainable World is an environmentally focused, student-run club grounded in science. Open to all Brown students, we bring together engineers, scientists, and others passionate about sustainability. Past projects include energy audits, solar panel installations, and a waste weighing system. As a chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World, we are building a solar-powered laptop charging station and engaging campus in sustainability efforts.

The Seabird Writing Conference (Brown University Chapter) connects its members to other student writers across the country through five- to eight-week-long online workshops in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer seasons. Throughout the year, the BU-SWC fosters the practice of creative writing among its participants through activities including scheduled writing sprints, prompts, and digital meet-and-greets with guest speakers.

The Brown Seafood Society hosts seafood-themed lunches and dinners open to all Brown and RISD students. It recognizes the importance of shared meals in fostering community and seeks to build that community upon shared love of seafood. In doing so, the club hopes to unite students coming from all over the world to a fundamental element of the Ocean State's culture.

SHAPE is a program of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) in partnership with the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University that teaches a facilitation-based comprehensive sexual health curriculum at local Providence high schools. SHAPE strives to create an environment in which high school students can engage in accurate, authentic, and honest conversations about sexuality and sexual health. Through SHAPE, Brown volunteers facilitate workshops where students can learn about and discuss topics related to sexual health and sexuality in an open setting.

The Shabbat Afternoon Book Club meets every Shabbat to read aloud a work of Jewish thought and discuss it together!

Shades of Brown is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, all-gender acapella group rooted in the African American tradition.

Brown Sign Languages Society increases opportunities for all students to use American Sign Language in settings outside of the classroom, spreads awareness of American Sign Language and Deaf culture in the Brown community and encourages involvement in and facilitates connections with the Deaf/ASL community of Providence and beyond.

The Sikh Student Association is meant to foster a community for Sikhs and non-Sikhs to discuss the teaching and values of the Sikh Guru's and how we can act upon their teachings. We have meeting on major Sikh holidays, along with smaller get togethers. Our biggest event is the New England Sikh Student Assembly where students from all over New England get together during Vaisakhi.

The Brown Sleep Society (BSS) is dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of sleep and fostering better sleep practices in the immediate and local community. Initiatives include events such as sleep improvement and lucid dreaming workshops, hosting guest speakers, advocating for later school start times, and promoting sleep-related research. Join them in prioritizing sleep for a happier and healthier future!

Snail Mail @ Brown is a community celebrating the art of handwritten letters, journaling, scrapbooking, etc. Snail Mail fosters artistic creativity, reflection, and wellness by holding community events and meetings. Snail Mail provides equitable access to bullet journaling, letter-writing, and scrapbooking supplies for all.Weekly meetings are held on Mondays from 7-9 PM. Open to all students at Brown and RISD.

SoBear Activities Club provides fun activities for the entire Brown community in a substance-free environment. We host a variety of art workshops, a Halloween party, and a retreat on Spring Weekend that offers students the opportunity to leave campus during a period of elevated substance abuse.

The Brown Socially Responsible Investment Fund (SRIF) is a student-run investment group managing over $250,000 in assets. We combine environmental, social, and governance (ESG) analysis with traditional financial research to make long-term investments. Open to all Brown students regardless of background or experience, SRIF offers hands-on education in investing, corporate ethics, and sustainable business. No prior finance knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

The purpose of the Brown SIAM Student Chapter, established in October 2015, is to build community and active connections across disciplines and among undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs who share the common interest for applied math. The Chapter hosts academic, professional, and social events, and all are welcome to join: undergraduates, grad students, post-docs, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The Brown SACNAS Chapter is dedicated to advancing undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows in their respective STEM careers. We aim to achieve this by hosting interactive workshops and seminars. Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Latinx and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. BrownURSA is an organization for furries in the Brown community. Broadly speaking, a furry is a person who is interested in anthropomorphic animals — animal characters who take on human characteristics. The furry fandom is a lively and vibrant subculture centered around creating artwork, music, writing, costume, performance, etc. around the idea of anthropomorphic animals and original furry characters. Whether you are a furry or simply enjoy media involving animal people, we welcome you to join!

The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) is open to all students and fosters unity, understanding, and support for students interested in pan Asian cultures. Members have the opportunity to attend SASE Regional and National conferences where they can network, meet other SASE chapters, and participate in professional development workshops. Moreover, this club supports undergraduates by offering career opportunity assistance and culturally relevant events.

Re-established in 2016 by a small group of students, SHPE-Brown has been committed to fostering a sense of familia and community for any STEM, not just engineering, students at Brown university and beyond. Since then we have grown and continue to expand today. We help our students thrive academically, professional, and personally by hosting community events, professional development workshops, gathering opportunities for our members, and more. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is open to and supports all student engineers including women-identifying student engineers by organizing community-building activities, developing internship and professional development opportunities, forming mentoring relationships between students and other affinity groups, and more. Beyond Brown, SWE organizes and hosts outreach events to introduce K-12 students to different fields of engineering and partners with external companies for recruitment and information sessions. Our chapter is open to all engineering students, including undergraduate and graduate women in STEM, and connects with local educational and community organizations.

The Sol is a student newspaper with semi-annual online and print publications covering current events, opinions, and trends impacting the Latine community within and beyond Providence. Open to all Brown students.

Sole Magazine was created to provide the Brown community with entertaining and informative feature writing about true events, people, and experiences but without the stylistic restrictions of hard journalism. We aim to tell interesting stories in interesting ways, using techniques of characterization, description, and theme, while experimenting with structure and tone to produce creatively crafted narratives.

Something on the Green exists to bring any theater, anywhere Brown at large! We provide the opportunity for the university community to get involved in all aspects of production: from acting, directing, and designing to enjoying as an audience member. Our production schedule consists of one full-length show in the fall and one full production in the spring, with several smaller productions throughout the year.

SOMOS Latinx Literary Magazine is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive space of expression for all Brown and RISD students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater Providence community, with a focus on issues impacting Latinx voices. We welcome and encourage participation from individuals of all backgrounds who are interested in exploring, creating, and engaging with Latinx cultures, histories, and identities. Our publication seeks to uplift our community’s diverse expressions of heritage and individuality through a celebration of art and creativity, promoting a dialogue that centers Latinx perspectives while remaining open to all.

Sounds@Brown organizes and throws concerts for student performers at Brown at different locations on campus.

Brown SASA strives to be an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for members of the Brown community who are of South Asian heritage, identify as South Asian, or have an interest in South Asian culture and history. SASA’s goal is to build a community where members of all South Asian ethnicities, religions, regions, and languages are equitably represented and supported.

South Asian Scholars in STEM (SASS) is the first of its kind professional development organization working to provide networking support to anyone identifying as South Asian and in the STEM field. This group is open to graduate students, medical students, post-docs, and visiting scholars at Brown. SASS has been designed to create a formal mentoring community for current students and scholars with alumni and professors. The group is also working to organize conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge exchange and foster a collaborative environment.

The South Slavic Society at Brown promotes the culture, languages, and traditions of South Slavic countries through events, discussions, and social gatherings. Open to all Brown students, the group fosters an inclusive space for exploring and appreciating South Slavic heritage.

The Southeast Asian Studies Initiative (SEASI) is an academic advocacy group that calls for the development of Southeast Asian Studies at Brown University through increased support for Southeast Asian Studies faculty, courses, and programming. SEASI hosts speaker events, organizes research symposiums, and collaborates with faculty and student groups to foster an intellectual community centered around increasing academic representation for Southeast Asia and its diasporas at Brown.

Southern Student Association exists to serve and support Brown University's southern student population and students interested in southern culture through events and organization. They promote unity, the education of southern history, and celebrating diversity of the American south amongst the Brown community.

Brown Space Engineering (BSE) promotes space accessibility by designing and manufacturing open-source, low-cost spacecraft. BSE Membership is open to all students, regardless of technical experience and focusses on increasing access to space science and engineering for students without prior exposure, including those from underrepresented STEM groups. It provides undergraduates hands-on project experience that democratises space access. BSE performs outreach by educating and publishing its design processes and documentation, fostering student and community engagement with space. We hope to provide all our members with a caring, passionate, mission-driven and goal-oriented peer group.

The Speedcubing Club at Brown brings together students passionate about solving Rubik’s cubes and other twisty puzzles. The group fosters a fun, inclusive environment for cubers to practice, compete, and learn new techniques. The club holds weekly meetings open to all skill levels.

The Brown Sports Data Club (BSD) is an open, inclusive student organization that uses data science and technology to enhance athletics and recreation at Brown University. BSD brings together students of all backgrounds and experience levels to build sports analytics tools, performance dashboards, and campus fitness projects that promote participation, well-being, and data literacy across the Brown community.

Brown Sports Group is a community of students, leading industry executives, university alumni, and sporting organizations. The club aims to facilitate a range of initiatives, including guest speaker events, networking opportunities, visits to local organizations, and hands-on projects.

The Brown Sports Medicine Society (BSMS) brings together students interested in sports medicine through guest speakers, hands-on workshops, and community-building events. Open to all, BSMS has hosted physicians, surgeons, and nutritionists, and led clinical skill workshops like suturing. The club offers a professional yet welcoming space for students to explore careers at the intersection of medicine, athletics, and human performance.

The mission of Brown Stand-up Comics is to provide a space for new and practiced comedians to workshop with peers, learn how to organize shows, and perform events for the Brown community.

Starla and Sons is Brown's only long-form improvised comedy group. We have practices multiple times a week and performances open to the public every semester.

The purpose of Stop Torture RI (Brown University Chapter) shall be to work in alliance with local community organizations including Stop Torture RI and Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE) to further their goals related to reducing harm in carceral settings in Rhode Island including ending the use of extended solitary confinement through such campaigns as: ending RIDOC’s reliance on long-term solitary confinement, closing the High Security Center, preventing forced out-of state transfers, and preventing the construction of new carceral facilities. We shall also bolster the voices of those impacted by incarceration as we believe no decisions should be made without the input of those who are most directly affected by the Department of Corrections’ practices: incarcerated people and their loved ones. ​Eligibility to Stop Torture RI (Brown University Chapter) is open to all full-time undergraduate members of the Brown community and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex. Majority Membership consists of full-time undergraduate students.

Strait Talk seeks to bridge the cross-strait divide between mainland China and Taiwan. The core of the organization is centered around our annual symposium where we bring in a delegation of 15 young professionals in industry and government from mainland China and Taiwan to engage in conflict resolution with the goal of fostering a shared sense of history and humanity. Strait Talk also holds weekly educational meetings throughout the semester discussing news related to China and Taiwan.

The primary focus of BSR is the radio station, broadcast on FM radio and bsrlive.com. Other operations include new music listening, archiving, and in-person events. Brown was the first student-run radio station in America, a testament to the consistency of the radio over centuries. This year we trained new radio show hosts and maintained existing shows. We have upkept tech equipment and attended to necesssary repairs for the station. Our teams have hosted several social events, advertised on social media, and took inventory of our music library. Interest meetings for joining our radio station have consistently high attendance, with about 40 people attending last semester and 20 this semester. As mentioned, we have doubled the number of shows we host and increased participation in our team meetings. Our list serv grew by 50 members last semester and about 20 this semester. In the past two years we have experienced consistent growth in participation in our club, as well as suggestions to increase our presence on campus.

The Student Birding Club aims to foster an inclusive, passionate birding community on campus. They teach members birdwatching techniques and ornithology facts with a focus on local RI birds, maintain a native plant garden, and advocate for bird conservation through a partnership with National Audubon Society. They host a plethora of birding excursions to local parks, nature preserves, and even to Block Island! Most importantly, the Birding Club welcomes bird enthusiasts of all experience levels!

The Student Labor Alliance (SLA) supports labor organizing on Brown's campus and around Rhode Island. SLA acts in solidarity with workers by sponsoring on-campus events such as the annual State of the Unions and bringing student support to picket lines.Eligibility to join the Student Labor Alliance is open to all members of the Brown community and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, status as a veteran, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex. The majority of membership consists of full-time undergraduate students.

The Student Veteran Society is Brown University's chapter of the Student Veterans of America (SVA). The mission of SVS is to support the military-affiliated community at Brown through fellowship, advocacy, and connection. SVS assists student veterans in navigating and utilizing their military education benefits, and provides resources to help with the transition into and out of military service. SVS also fosters a strong network of student veterans and works to build meaningful relationships among students, alumni, faculty, and staff by promoting a deeper understanding of military experiences. While focused on supporting veterans and military-affiliated students, SVS is open to all Brown students regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or caste.

Students Demand Action is Brown's chapter of the national gun safety organization. We advocate against gun violence, honoring lives lost in shootings, educating our community on the dangers of firearms, and actively pushing for changes in gun laws.

Students for Educational Equity (SEE) is dedicated to promoting educational equity in Providence and the communities in which Providence is embedded. SEE believes in institutions of public education as a vehicle for just social change and are committed to promoting justice within these institutions through advocacy, service, and awareness projects. SEE's work is grounded in achieving real improvements in the lived experiences of the students of the Providence Public School District. SEE aims to keep Brown University and other non-student community stakeholders accountable in their engagement with the Providence public school system, especially Brown University, since our positionality as Brown students gives us particular leverage in this institution. SEE’s efforts are specifically targeted to promote the educational well-being and access of all marginalized identities, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, and socioeconomic status. SEE welcomes all students at Brown to join in centering student and community voices through fundraising, organizing, and community networking efforts to promote educational equity on campus and across Providence.

The purpose of this organization shall be to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation and efforts to build a self-determined and free society, and raise awareness of and help alleviate the ongoing occupation taking place in occupied Palestine. SJP mainly operates through educational workshops and teach-ins, public demonstrations, and fundraisers and mutual aid.

Brown Students for Life is a non-partisan, non-sectarian student group that promotes respect for the dignity and value of every human life from conception to natural death. Through educational events and outreach, the group engages the campus community on topics including abortion, euthanasia, and related issues. All Brown students, regardless of background or beliefs, are welcome to participate.

Students for Samaritans promote mental health awareness on campus, specifically suicide prevention awareness. Students for Samaritans will also work with the Samaritans of RI, a nonprofit organization servicing a 24 hour crisis listening line, to receive training to volunteer on the hotline and work on ad-hoc projects for Samaritans of RI under their discretion. Open to all Brown students, Students for Samaritans fosters an inclusive community committed to mental health advocacy and support.

Brown Students in Real Estate introduces all Brown students to the real estate industry through alumni panels, site visits, and firm treks to cities like Boston and New York. The club also offers skill-building workshops and networking opportunities to help students explore career paths in the real estate field. Open to students of all backgrounds and experience levels, BSRE fosters an inclusive and collaborative community.

Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) is a collective that celebrates Caribbean heritage and culture through social events, discussions, and community gatherings. SOCA provides a welcoming space for students to connect, engage in dialogue about Caribbean life and identity, and build community on Brown’s campus. While SOCA centers the experiences of Caribbean-identifying students, all Brown students are welcome and encouraged to participate.

SAMA @ Brown is the first university-level chapter of this non-profit, non-political, educational and humanitarian organization. We advance medical knowledge, develop and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards of medical practice and health care through scientific, educational, and charitable initiatives. SAMA serves as a hub and community for all students interested in medical and human rights, global health, and conflict resolution.

Sunrise Brown is an activist organization on campus dedicating to advocating for environmental justice on campus and across Providence. We hope to build a community of activists dedicated to fighting for a healthier, more equitable future.

The Sustainable Business Society aims to foster the professional development of environmentally conscious leaders across various disciplines and industries.​ SBS offers a comprehensive curriculum that educates students on the foundations of sustainability, encompassing climate science, policy, and technology. Additionally, SBS provides career development workshops and speaker series to further enhance members' understanding and professional growth in the sustainability sector.​Within SBS, students are paired into interest groups based on their preferences, spanning from working on venture prizes, to community engagement, to pro bono consulting, to drafting newsletters, and, finally, social media outreach. Brown Table is Brown University's Board Game Club, which welcomes students of all backgrounds to take a break from the stress and enjoy playing games with friends on a weekly basis! We have a large collection of games including games of strategy, deception, teamwork, cards, and more! Brown Table prides itself on its community of welcoming people and relaxed culture.

The purpose of BUTTR shall be to provide a safe space for all students to engage in the hobby of tabletop roleplaying games in a fun and encouraging environment. We will host monthly gatherings to teach unfamiliar students the basics of the game and host one-off specialty events. In addition, we aim to gather students who are interested in starting a group and pairing them together to get them started. We will provide starting materials (dice, rule handbooks, maps, etc.) as well as provide spaces to play.

BTS aims to share Taiwanese culture and bring together the student community through our events. The group welcomes anyone interested in and respectful of Taiwanese culture.

TAMID provides students an opportunity to engage with the Israeli economy through finance and consulting. TAMID provides all new members an education semester, before allowing members to pick between fund and consulting tracks.On the fund, members work together, led by a stock pitch manager, to develop a stock pitch. In consulting, members — led by a Project Manager — work together to provide advisory services for leading, innovative Israeli companies.Our organization is open to all students.

Tango@Brown is the only student club at Brown University dedicated to the teaching and learning of the dance of tango. TEDxBrownU is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TEDx’s overall mission to discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to the local communities through the annual TEDx conferences. These events seek to uncover new ideas, amplify stories, and share the latest innovations in exciting fields that spark conversations in diverse populations. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED.

Tempo Performance Co. is a dance performance group that is inclusive of all dance styles and dancers of any experience level. They were founded upon the idea that the art of performance can extend beyond dance and wanted to create a space that encourages students to explore all elements of their artistic abilities, including singing and rapping. Tempo's performance repertoire in the past has primarily consisted of hip hop, R&B, and Korean pop, but is in no way limited to these genres.

The Teochew Association (TCA) at Brown University fosters a welcoming environment and inclusive space for students from all backgrounds to celebrate Teochew culture. The Association aims to preserve Teochew heritage through educational events and experiential activities.In face of cultural loss, the Association provides a “home away from home” for the Brown Community by organizing cooking nights, Teochew language and culture classes, and community events to nurture linguistic diversity and cultural appreciation among all students.Teochew — sometimes romanized as Chiuchow or Chaozhou — refers to Han Chinese people from the Chaoshan region, located in the eastern Guangdong province of China. In the 1800s, following war and famine, many Teochew emigrated from China, shaping the modern-day Teochew diasporic population. Currently, sizable Teochew populations are located in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and the U.S., among other countries.

The Thai Students Association organization builds a community of Brown community members who are from Thailand and those who are interested in any aspects of Thailand despite the students' ethnicities. The organization shall exist as a platform for the mentioned community members to engage in Thai cultural activities and sharing.

The Brown Theatre Collective supports theatremakers on campus by increasing accessibility to equipment, supporting independent productions, and hosting events for people to attend and mingle with other people who do theatre on campus.

The Tibetan Cultural Association at Brown provides opportunities for students to engage with Tibetan culture, history, and traditions through cultural events, discussions, and community gatherings. Open to all students, the organization aims to unite students interested in Tibetan culture while encouraging members of the Brown community to learn about and celebrate Tibetan heritage. Through programs such as food events, film screenings, and cultural workshops, the Tibetan Cultural Association fosters a welcoming space for cultural appreciation, dialogue, and community building.

Touhou@Brown is a group where students interested in the Touhou Project come together to create doujin (fanmade) works including games, artbooks, music, and more. In addition to being a meeting spot, we also provide help regarding publication, advertisement, asset purchasing, and technical help. We also hold hangout events where we will play Touhou official/doujin games or watch fan animes. We are open to all students especially if you're new to Touhou or just interested!

TrANSSEXUALS empowers students in the revolutionary act of decisively and resolutely dismantling that harmful and oppressive social construct known as the "gender binary." We hold social events, meetups, discussions, workshops, arts and crafts events, and more in pursuance of this cause. We welcome all students who share this vision, including those who identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderfluid, or genderqueer.

The Brown University Triple Helix Science Journal makes scientific research accessible and engaging for all audiences by publishing clear, well-written articles on cutting-edge science. Through writing, editing, workshops, and print and online publications, TTH fosters science communication and promotes a welcoming, inclusive space for students to explore and share scientific ideas.

Umeed at Brown makes an active effort to spread awareness of the burden of cancer in low to middle-income countries to Brown University community through the creation of informational multimedia. They also host a multitude of fundraising events throughout the year to support treatment and hospital costs for cancer patients through their NGO partners in India and West Africa. These events include Educational Speaker, Benefit Concert, Dance Workshop, Spring Carnival, Fun Run, and Day of Giving. Our organization is open to all students!

The Brown Undergraduate Journal of Public Health (BUJPH) is a non-partisan student-run publication at the Brown University School of Public Health in Providence, Rhode Island. Through a culture of scholarly inquiry, the Journal fosters a supportive and intellectual environment for undergraduate students to become involved in public health related research.

The Brown Undergraduate Law Review (BULR) is a multi-pronged organization aimed at making legal thought and a career in the law more accessible for Brown students. We are organized around our flagship publication, in which we publish eight peer-reviewed articles a semester. Our team of blog writers and blog editors also publishes shorter-form legal scholarship on our blog. We have a growing podcast in which members of the BULR interview and discuss cutting-edge legal challenges. Finally, we organize and carry out a plethora of events (social and professional) throughout the year.

BUSH creates a community for undergraduate hospice volunteers and raises awareness about hospice and palliative care amongst the Brown undergraduate student population.

UNICEF@Brown is a student-led organization that advances UNICEF’s mission to protect the rights and well-being of every child. Through education, advocacy, and fundraising, members raise awareness about global challenges such as child malnutrition, limited access to education, unsafe water, and inadequate healthcare. The organization is open to all Brown students.

The Venezuelan Student Association (VENSA) at Brown University is a student group committed to creating awareness and raising funds to help Venezuelan Communities in need through philanthropic and cultural events. Veritas Forum plans and hosts in-person Forums every semester. These are panels featuring speakers who are experts in their field. These Forums put the Christian faith in dialogue with other beliefs on issues that the student body sees as important.

Veterinary and Animal Science Society at Brown is a pre-professional community of students interested in veterinary medicine, animal care, animal welfare, and animals in general. Our goal is to help and create a space where students can connect, learn from each other’s experiences, and explore the many paths related to animals and veterinary work.

The Vietnamese Students Association (VSA) at Brown is a cultural and social organization open to all students. We aim to celebrate Vietnamese heritage while fostering dialogue about its history, society, and contemporary issues. Through inclusive events—ranging from traditional celebrations and to educational workshops and discussions—VSA builds community, encourages cultural exchange, and creates a space where everyone is welcome to learn, connect, and grow.

VISIONS is a publication that highlights and celebrates the diversity of Brown’s Asian American community. We are committed to being an open literary and artistic forum for Asian Americans, as well as other members of the university community, to freely express and address issues relating both to Asia and the Asian American experience. VISIONS further serves as a forum for issues that cannot find a voice in other campus publications. As a collaborative initiative, VISIONS attempts to strengthen and actively engage Brown’s vibrant community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as the larger Providence community.

Visual Art Appreciation holds weekly meetings, where we learn and discuss different art movements, artists, and styles. The group is open to all students from all levels of knowledge about art history. Our meetings are meant to be informal yet informative and engaging discussions about art. Alongside discussions about prominent art movements, we'll also hold immersive activities, such as testing the architectural claims of Vitruvius and examining the Canon of Polykleitos. Finally, we incorporate museum visits into our exploration of the art world on a monthly basis.

What's on Tap? is Brown University's only all tap dance group.

Whistling Warblers is an organization that seeks to create a welcoming space for students to practice whistling with others who share a passion for it. The group hopes to spread happiness and joy to the community by sharing songs. Through the club, students will have the opportunity to practice musical skills and celebrate the beautiful culture of whistling. All students are welcome, regardless of previous experience.

With One Voice (WOV) is an acapella group recognised on campus since the 1970s. WOV is open to all Brown students and meets twice a week for rehearsals and performs regularly both on and off campus. WOV hopes to bring the acapella and the Christian community together, and to be a place where people who are passionate about acapella and faith-based music can come together as one.

The purpose of WBB shall be to create a space/community for all students to learn about and become comfortable with operating power tools, machines, and other crafting accessories. WBB is open to all students and will create a welcoming environment for members with the understanding that workshops are often male-dominated environments making it less accessible for women to enter these spaces and learn to use tools. WBB aims to inspire its members to design, craft, and build independent projects in a learning community where we help each other pursue new skills.

Brown Women in Business (WIB) is a pre-professional, student-run organization committed to empowering all students interested in exploring business careers. Through our pillars of education, mentorship, and community, we aim to foster professional development, inclusive leadership, and networking opportunities. Our group and programming is open to all members of the Brown community and includes speaker events, workshops, mentorship programs, and industry partnerships to support students as they pursue careers across the business world.

Women in Science and Engineering provides mentorship and resources for Brown students in STEM. The goal of WiSE is to decrease the barrier present for people of underrepresented genders in science to excel in their careers and education. WiSE is open to all students and the E-Board welcomes you to become involved with the WiSE community!

WHAG advocates for and supports the issues impacting the wellbeing of women and gender minorities at Brown and beyond through discussion-based meetings, workshops, education and awareness campaigns, improving access to health resources, and more. WHAG is open to and invites all students to join us in our mission.

The purpose of Brown Women’s Pre-Law Association (BWPLA) shall be to empower all Brown students including women in their pursuit of legal careers and to foster a space where networking and community building may thrive. BWPLA is open to all students and committed to offering law-related resources, events, and opportunities for all Brown students who are interested in supporting women’s professional and personal goals. Past initiatives include law school visits to Harvard, collaborations with the Rhode Island Supreme Court, and alumni panels featuring attorneys and current law students. We are an inclusive, diverse, non-partisan, feminist, and womanist group dedicated to supporting, educating, and providing professional and mentorship opportunities to our members in addition to cultivating a strong, accessible alumni network following one’s time at Brown. Above all, we are committed to maintaining an inclusive, anti-discriminatory environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of the identities they hold.

WORD! is Brown-RISD’s performance poetry group, and works to amplify the unheard and illuminate the unseen. Rooted in the spoken word tradition, WORD! holds weekly poetry workshops, semesterly showcases, and departmental collaborations to bring poetry to the masses. WORD! serves as a space where all students, including students who are queer, of lower socioeconomic status, and are students of color, can find alternative ways of speaking their truths.

Yarnaholics@Brown is a club dedicated to the fiber arts, with an emphasis on crochet and knitting. Meetings include cozy drop-in hours and mini-workshops, where tools and yarn will be provided. No experience is necessary to join :)

The Young Democratic Socialists of America are a political group at Brown University. We are dedicated to building a just and democratic socialist future through labor organizing, student movement building, and political education.
