The Black Star Journal’s purpose is to create a reliable source of news, life, existence, and culture where Brown and RISD students are invited to create and learn about Black history on campus. The newspaper works to connect the vast collection of voices, including Black voices, on and around Brown’s campus to build a stronger and better-informed community. The Black Star welcomes students from all backgrounds to uplift the stories, dreams, and ideas of the school’s Black community.
