QA is a student-driven, and student-centric, organization that is open to all Brown students to meet one another, build community, and access resources and spaces in an informal and friendly environment. Our socials and events are unique as there is no equivalent student organization on campus specifically committed to large-scale events that celebrate queer identity for the student body. The party scene has long been a space for queer community-building, encounters, and celebration throughout history. Most other student affinity groups have a tradition of yearly socials. QA has been working to re-establish this within those interested in the queer community, which has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response. The organization and its events are open to all students. Without QA, spaces that support queer interests would once again be pushed to the margins of our campus culture.
