University Marshals
From the UNCG directory, Sep 7, 2026
Founded in 1893, the University Marshals are the 100 top students at UNCG, selected based on their academic achievement, recognition, accomplishments, and leadership potential. The University Marshals are called upon to represent UNCG for its most formal ceremonies, including Nav1Gate, the Doctoral Hooding ceremony, and University Commencement. Specific qualifications for membership include a cumulative GPA of 3.65, inclusion on the Chancellor's List, completion of at least 30 semester hours (or one semester at UNCG for transfer students), current enrollment of at least 12 semester hours, and a demonstration of service and engagement with the campus community. Eligible students will receive an email at the beginning of the semester of their induction inviting them to apply for membership. Inductions are held each Spring semester. If you do not receive an email and feel that you meet the qualifications for the application, or have any other questions, comments, or concerns, please contact our Chief Marshal, Fatima Galvan-Ruiz ([email removed]) and our Faculty Advisors, Adrienne Craig ([email removed])/Nicole Merritt ([email removed]).
