The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science
From the UNCG directory, Sep 7, 2026
SACNAS, the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science, is a pivotal organization championing the success of underrepresented minorities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). SACNAS's mission is its annual national conference, one of the largest gatherings of minority scientists in the U.S., offering a platform for networking, professional development, and research showcase. Committed to fostering a supportive community, we want to bring SACNAS to UNCG and provide resources such as mentorship programs, scholarships, and leadership development opportunities to students. Beyond individual support, the organization is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM, addressing issues of representation and equal access. SACNAS plays a vital role in advancing diversity and equity, contributing to the creation of a more inclusive scientific community.
