Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club is a small active group dedicated to providing an informal forum for UNCG students to discuss important intellectual problems. Knowledge for its own sake, hard won through wrestling with concepts and definitions and arguments, both valid and fallacious, is the primary goal. The Great Conversation Discussion Series meets six times throughout the academic year. Each session features an eminent speaker who delivers a background talk on a specific philosophical problem. Then facilitates an engaging roundtable discussion. Certificates of merit for demonstration of initiative and achievement in philosophical discussion are awarded to students who actively participate in the year long series.
