Barkada, originally known as the Filipino-American Student Association (FASA), was established in the Fall of 2013 to create a united presence in Greensboro and around the Triad. Through Barkada, our mission is to establish a network that inspires and motivates the growing population of young Filipino-Americans to embrace their Filipino heritage, as well as include others who are interested in learning about their culture. We strive to benefit society through service, friendship, and further increasing the diversity within the community. Barkada is open to all and does not discriminate its membership and events based on age, race, color, creed, national origin, disability, religion, military veteran status, political affiliation, or sexual orientation. Barkada is an affiliated student group of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
