Youth Empowered in the Struggle is a student-led, multicultural organization that advocates for the rights of students, immigrants, and workers through leadership development, community organizing, and empowerment. Y.E.S: Youth Empowered in the Struggle is the youth arm of Voces de la Frontera (VDLF), one of Wisconsin's leading immigrant and workers’ rights organizations. At the college level, YES chapters are student-led spaces where young people organize, lead campaigns, and build collective power around issues impacting their campuses and local communities.The purpose of YES shall be: To work towards equal rights for immigrants, students, and workers, in the Greater Milwaukee area and beyondTo offer students a chance to take part in grassroots community organizing To establish within members the skills and knowledge that will make them effective leaders in the fight for justice To encourage member involvement in the larger activist community Lead and participate in issue-based campaigns Connect campus struggles to statewide and national movementsThe activities of YES are as follows: Campaign organizing on campus and in surrounding communitiesKnow your rights (KYR) trainingsEducational panels and political education eventsCommunity conversations and coalition-buildingParticipation in the Annual Assembly, May Day, and the Voces de la Frontera Gala
