GEMS Club stands for Graduate Education in Medical Sciences. We are a club that encompasses all students who want to pursue something in the medical field after they graduate. Whether this is going to graduate school to get your PhD or Pharm-D, attending medical school, dental school, PA school, OT, PT, Veterinary School, etc. Anything that requires further education after your undergraduate degree and that is related to healthcare, we are the club for you! We provide tons of volunteer opportunities, shadowing opportunities and a fun community of like-minded people who have the same drive and desires. Our goal is to provide you with opportunities that will help you when it comes time to apply to these schools. We want our members to be well-rounded, compassionate, and scholarly individuals who all have a common goal to help people. Our club consist of workshops for resumes and personal statements, meeting representatives from popular schools throughout the country, participating in club service projects to gain volunteer hours, meeting local medical professionals through laid back Q&A’s, participating in practice exams, and so much more. GEMS is more than a club - it is a support group full of people just like YOU. In addition, every spring, we go on a campus trip to tour various medical, PA and other types of schools to see what it would be like to attend and what their universities require of students who are looking to apply.Join GEMS and help give back to the community, create some awesome friendships, and learn about what it takes to get into the graduate program of your choice. We meet bi-weekly (every other Wednesday) at 6pm.
