CMU Veterinary Nursing Club

The Veterinary Technology club aims to support the education of future generations of veterinary technicians while building lasting community relationships. Goals have been established to help provide a sense of fellowship through comradery through team building activities, to work together to further education through frequent study groups and conferences, and to provide preventative services for club members as means to fund educational activities and supplies. The Veterinarian Technician club meets at least once a month we try to meet on Tuesdays. If the meeting cannot occur during that time, members are notified in advanced and new meeting times are on an event within the band app.One of the main goals of the club is fellowship through team building activities. This includes public involvement and awareness. Previously, tech students have spent many hours volunteering at Roice-Hurst Humane Society assisting in the high volume spay and neuter clinics, as well as local farm calls to assist with preventative services for livestock. Club members have the opportunity to gain experience next month during the Mesa County Fair and 4-H livestock sales. Future plans also discussed to help further education include inviting guest speakers from specialized areas of expressed interest, CACVT conferences, and involvement with RHHS and the Street Dog Coalition volunteer opportunities. This club is key to being AVMA certified and the more involved this club is with the community of CMU the easier the AVMA certification process will be.
