"California Nursing Students' Association is a statewide community advancing the transition of the student to professional nurse through leadership development, education, mentorship, advocacy, activism, and stewardship."Committees: Breakthrough to Nursing?Establishes peer relationships between high school, pre-health students, and current nursing students.Organizes and coordinates community projects.Gives nursing students opportunities to practice skills and cultivate leadership.Partners with local organizations that include but are not limited to the Girl Scout troops and schoolsMentorshipProvides guidance and mentorship to current and incoming nursing students.Assigns sophomore nursing students an upperclassmen mentor who can help them have a smooth transition into their first year of nursing.Holds educational workshops for all class levels.ConventionOrganizes paperwork and materials needed for upcoming conventions (i.e. transportation, registration, itinerary).Works closely with other officers in leadership positions.Opportunity to attend the State and National Conventions.ResolutionWrites a resolution to present at the CNSA Convention.Resolutions bring awareness to current issues related to nursing education, health care. and/or the community.Gives students the opportunity directly influence the nursing field.
