The Basic Needs Department strives to support student success by addressing fundamental needs including those related to food security, housing stability, and emergency and/or crisis services. Comprised of the CSUB Food Pantry, Edible Garden, and case management unit, the department seeks to remove barriers and create a sense of belonging and purpose for our students, enabling them to fully engage in their academic journey.The Basic Needs department offers CalFresh application assistance, campus food pantry and garden, monthly food distributions, emergency housing placement, and wrap-around case management services to students who have been displaced or need assistance with community resources.
