Art After Dark: Student Opening of "Shadows and Light" Exhibition

Art After Dark: Student Opening Thursday, September 17 6:00–10:00 pm Art After Dark is back with its biannual students-only opening celebration, this time with Belgian symbolist art. To celebrate the fall exhibition, we’re offering an evening filled with art, games, live performances, food, film, and music to complement the themes and materials on display. The opening invites students to: Watch live performances by a capella groups, dance crews, and student musicians (Lineup: TBD)Try a variety of canapés and dessertsTry your hand at a variety of Belgian games, such as the card game Wiezen (Whist), and board games Saboteur and GIPF Make a work of faux stained glass for your dorm windowCreate a botanical print from fresh plantsEtch a symbolist woodland scene on a silverfoil scratchboardEnjoy outdoor lawn games (including Kubb, a game popular in Belgium, Axe Throwing, Giant Yahtzee, Giant Connect Four, Giant Jenga, and Lawn Bowling)Participate in a scavenger hunt in the galleries for prizesWatch movies on the terraceAnd of course, be the first to see the fall exhibition, Shadows and LightJoin us! Walk over from the Mods, head down from Upper, or park in the adjacent lots. Get dressed up or keep it casual. If you’re taking the Comm. Ave. shuttle, get off at the Greycliff Hall stop.
