The Center for Student Engagement & First-Generation Student Success is committed to supporting the academic, personal, and leadership development of students—particularly those who are first-generation, at risk and/or underperforming students. Through intentional programming, mentorship, and collaboration with departments, faculty, and staff across campus, the Center works to foster student persistence, a strong sense of belonging, and meaningful campus involvement. Within the Center, students can access spaces and resources designed to enhance academic success, plan projects, and connect with peers. The Center also serves as a hub for student-led organizations that promote leadership, community—supporting campus-wide programs and events such as National First-Gen Week, cultural celebrations, and student leadership retreats.
