The ATU ArMHCA Student Chapter at Arkansas Tech University is dedicated to supporting current graduate students pursuing degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and/or Rehabilitation Counseling. Our mission is to foster professional growth, advocacy, leadership, and collaboration while preparing students for ethical and effective practice within the counseling profession across Arkansas. The organization promotes professional development through peer mentorship, exposure to supervision pathways, networking opportunities, and engagement in statewide initiatives. Members gain insight into licensure processes, legislative issues impacting current and future counselors, continuing education opportunities, and career development resources.In partnership with the Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association (ArMHCA), the student organization connects students to conferences, discounted continuing education events, professional mentoring, and statewide networking opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in community education efforts that promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma, while gaining access to specialty provider resources, career postings, and updates from the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.Through these efforts, the student organization seeks to cultivate informed, service-driven, and well-connected counseling professionals who are prepared to advocate for clients, contribute to their communities, and advance mental health care throughout the state.
