Social Studies Educator Collective

SSEC, or Social Studies Educator Collective, will be an organization that aims to bring together Social Studies Secondary UWGB students and elementary education students who are eager to deepen their understanding of social studies education. We aim to connect aspiring educators with WCSS. We hope to connect with cohorts and educators in our local community to learn from them and enter the field with strong teaching connections. We want to engage in action research in the Social Studies Context and conduct our own research. We are eager to attend local social studies events and deepen our understanding of the profession and the specific subject field. We want to create a space where aspiring educators can discuss anxieties and fears of our current realities in our community, country, and nation as a whole. We want to create field trip opportunities to invest ourselves in our community, deepen our knowledge, and create change through Social Studies.
