"GDG on Campus University of Wisconsin–Green Bay" is an official chapter of Google Developer Groups (GDG), created to give UWGB students a structured, collaborative space to learn and build with modern technologies. Purpose:The purpose of “GDG on Campus University of Wisconsin-Green Bay” is to provide University of Wisconsin–Green Bay students with a regular, structured forum to learn, collaborate, and gain practical experience in modern software and cloud technologies.The chapter will support hands-on skill development, peer mentorship, and community engagement by offering workshops, study jams, project nights, speaker events, hackathons, and outreach programs.Student leadership, initiative, and participation will drive the organization; the chapter will be student-initiated, student-led, and student-run, with guidance from a faculty advisor.Objectives:To fulfill this purpose, “GDG on Campus University of Wisconsin-Green Bay” will pursue the following objectives:Provide accessible, project-driven learning opportunities in Android, web development, cloud computing, and AI/ML, with emphasis on Google technologies such as Firebase and Google Cloud.Host monthly technical events (such as workshops, study jams, coding challenges, and a coding treasure hunt) that encourage continuous engagement and practical application of skills.Organize at least one campus hackathon or multi-day build event each academic year to foster teamwork, creativity, and portfolio development.Offer mentorship and peer support by pairing experienced student volunteers with beginners and by creating pathways for leadership development within the chapter.Engage with the local tech community and nearby GDG chapters to create networking, internship, and collaboration opportunities for members.Conduct outreach initiatives–such as high-school bootcamps and community workshops–to broaden access to technology education across Northeast Wisconsin.Ensure compliance with University of Wisconsin–Green Bay policies and maintain transparent governance, records, and financial practices under the primary control of the chapter membership.Follow us on our social media:Website: gdg.uwgb.edu | Instagram: gdg_uwgb | Facebook: gdg.uwgb | LinkedIn: gdg-uwgb
