Brigadier General Andrew W. Ballenger (USA, Ret.) is a career Army officer with 30 years of service and four combat deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Djibouti. Most recently, he served as Deputy Commanding General of the Combined Joint Task Force–Horn of Africa, where he helped shape strategy and direct joint and multinational operations across East Africa while working with partner governments and U.S. agencies on security, stability, and great power competition. He has experience in the areas of military power, diplomacy, international relations, trade and shifting alliances. He has also served in senior policy and planning roles at the National Guard Bureau, U.S. Army Europe, and the Executive Office of the President. He holds a Master of Public Service and Administration from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Oklahoma
