EQUIP Leadership Program Orientation for First-Year Students

Join the African American Cultural Center (AACC) for the EQUIP orientation and to learn how this year-long initiative can help you create the college experience you want in and outside of the classroom. EQUIP stands for Empower, Question, Understand, Initiate and Partner. The initiative is designed to help first-year students: Empower themselves to create the college experience they wantQuestion everything to build habits for life-long learningUnderstand themselves and what they need to be successfulInitiate action and be proactive to find resourcesPartner with others to build a network of care and communityAs an EQUIP participant, you will: Engage in monthly check-ins with a dedicated staff memberAttend learning labs and AACC signature eventsWork with an embedded AACC counselorAttend EQUIP special programsDevelop skills in self-awareness, resilience and help-seekingEQUIP supports first-year students at NC State in cultivating self-awareness, community and resilience through AACC signature events, wellness activities and proactive campus resource engagement.
