AI Developments in Scholarly Publishing: The Last Year in Review

The pace of change with artificial intelligence and its adoption is unparalleled, making it highly challenging for those working in scholarly communications to keep up. In the 3 years since the launch of ChatGPT, the space is almost unrecognizable. Speakers Angela Cochran and Gary Price will cover developments in artificial intelligence, relevant to scholarly publishers, over the last twelve months. It will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in 3 main areas: Impact on Reading Impact on Authorship Impact on Peer Review It will cover changes over the last few years, including how publishers have moved from "should we" to "how do we" and implementing AI solutions into both their workflows and understanding of how their customers interact with them. Questions of every stripe and flavor will be welcomed, from highly specific to deeply philosophical. AI is changing everything, everywhere, all at once, and as such, no areas are beyond question.
