AI Series: AI Salon & Lunch

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to join us for lunch and informal discussion about the Class of 2030 Common Read titles and conversation about safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence. Please come learn about the texts the students read over the summer (no need to read them in advance of this event), hear some of their reflections, and share your own comments. Lunch will be provided. The conversation will be led by librarian Lisa Thornell and Dr. Margaret McClure, Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship and Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences. A “salon” is a regularly occurring social and intellectual gathering of people, named after the room they used to be held in. The AI Salon facilitates thoughtful conversations and provides a platform to bring together our Fairfield University community to discuss ideas, expand our creative thinking, and for philosophical exchange. This is not a workshop, just a space to gather, share, respond, and discuss the implications of AI on our research, teaching, learning, as well as our personal lives.
