(SPHPH717 OR SPHEP714) - This course is designed for those students who have an interest in the epidemiology and control of tuberculosis, the single largest cause of global infectious disease mortality. The course will survey state of the art knowledge of tuberculosis, including molecular epidemiologic techniques, and will emphasize epidemiologic principles and methods underlying TB control strategies. The course focuses on study design, selection and information bias, and confounding. The course will also give the student experience in the critical review of epidemiologic studies in this area.
