About Real Estate Colloquium: Real Estate Colloquium provides an overview of the real estate field through weekly sessions with industry professionals. Each session covers diverse topics including finance, investment, law, planning, public policy, REITs, capital markets, leasing, brokerage, and development. Representatives from across the industry share insights into career paths and provide a comprehensive view of this multifaceted field. The Corcoran Center for Real Estate and Urban Action welcomes Guest Speaker, Kevin Costello. He will give a short 30 minute presentation. Following, there will then be a moderated discussion conducted with Tom Traynor. Guest Speaker: Kevin Costello is the Managing Partner of Foreside Development Company. Kevin leads the Development team and focuses on deal structuring and financing for Portland Foreside's real estate projects and partnerships. Since then he has driven the acquisition, rezoning, master planning, and strategic restructuring of CPB2 into Portland Foreside, and he carried the company through its transition from entitlement work to vertical development with the $27 million Fore Points Marina and the $90 million Sun Life Financial office building. Prior to Portland Foreside, Kevin spent 12 years in financial markets, primarily at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan in Boston and New York, specializing in institutional sales of structured fixed income securities. He holds a BA in Economics from Boston College, where he played defensive back for the Eagles. Guest Moderator: Tom Traynor, CFA is a Vice Chairman and Co-Head of U.S. Large Loans in Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE focusing on institutional debt advisory, with specific expertise in originating, structuring and negotiating large commercial real estate finance transactions.
