This workshop expands on the backward design process introduced in this orientation module, with a focus on the first step of the process: determining what you want students to learn. By the end of the session, participants will be able to: describe, and distinguish between, learning goals and learning outcomesidentify situational factors that can impact course design and teachingdescribe the work the syllabus can do in a course This is one of 5 required workshops for the Foundations of Teaching (FT) Program. Those who miss more than ten minutes of a session will not receive FT Program credit for that workshop.
